Happy New Year 2026! New year, new season, new problems, new solutions, new Vineyard Dog! Vineyard Manager Barry Wescott and his family is fostering to adopt a 6 yr old Husky named Ruffio Bark Wahlberg after 602 days at Benton-Franklin Humane Society! He is in training daily and is showing progress but it will be slow, but he is a good boy, just doesn't like to share. It is a work of love.

Reflecting on trends is fascinating. Currently, the major question is what or who will emerge as the next significant trend to revitalize the wine industry? This is indeed the trillion-dollar question globally.

From natural wine’s rise to Burgundy’s boom and the waning power of the 100-point score, discover 25 wine trends that reshaped how we buy and drink wine over the last 25 years.

We may not be harvesting all of our fruit due to many changes in our society globally and domestic. But our values won't change, which is focusing on sustainable farming. We are going to take what we are not converting to wine and mixing it into areas of poor soil where OM needs to be increased as it is too much silt loam. Sooo we are going to use our Pellenc to pick and then precisely dump the OM where it is needed most and let in leach in overwinter and follow up with soil incorporation next spring. Last year we used hay bales. It's a process but one well worth it to regenerate the soil. I can't take total credit for that as it was tipped off to me by Cameron and Chris Kontos, generational Walla Walla farmers and winemakers who learned the craft and love of Walla Walla from their Dad working wheat and making wine in this beautiful region. You can catch them in the Kontos Cellars tasting room from time to time. Drop by and say "Hi" to a great pair of gentlemen!
