Some w**es start with a vineyard, Desiderata started with an idea…

When Chuck was first dreaming up Reininger in 1997, he already knew there was a w**e he wanted to make. He called it Desiderata, after the poem he'd been carrying with him since high school. Its advice to “strive to be happy” and remember that “it is still a beautiful world” feels rather fitting for Chuck.

Today, our third release of Desiderata brings together all six Bordeaux varieties in one seriously good red, carefully blended and built to age. Turns out, some ideas are worth holding onto.

At 1,250 feet, XL Vineyard is one of the highest-planted vineyards in the Walla Walla Valley.

Tucked beneath the Blue Mountains, its steep slopes and rocky soils give the vines plenty of drainage and a distinct sense of place. We source our Cabernet Sauvignon from XL, and every vintage gives us another chance to see what this site can do.

Thanks to everyone who picked up a Spokane Fire Relief Pack this summer, together we're sending $6,500 to the Innovia Foundation's Spokane Complex Wildfire Response Fund.

From early August through September, 100% of proceeds from our three-bottle Helix package went toward relief for communities affected by the late-summer wildfires in the Spokane region. Orders came in from all across the country, and we're deeply grateful to each of you who took part.

Spokane has been home to our Helix tasting room for 10 years, and this community has always shown up for us. We're glad we could do a small part alongside you to help our neighbors recover.

It’s Wheelin' Walla Walla Weekend and our 1929 Ford Model A Roadster is making an appearance at the w**ery on Friday and Saturday. Our dad Terry Tucker first bought the used auto for $90 in 1952 as a Walla Walla High School student. He then sold it to his uncle for $95. Many years later Terry bought it back, and around 1980, he restored it to its original splendor. Three generations and more stories than we could tell!
