At first glance, it looks like a classic Rhône blend.

But look a little closer and you’ll find something unusual.

Syrah, Mourvèdre, Grenache, and Viognier rarely appear together in the same wine. Yet after countless blending trials, this combination consistently rose to the top.

The result is a wine that balances power with finesse—layered with dark fruit, spice, floral lift, and remarkable texture.

A blend that doesn’t quite follow tradition, but captures everything we love about it.

Fianchetto comes from the Firethorn Vineyard, a secluded site whose combination of loess soils and basalt influence creates a wine of remarkable character. Powerful without being over-extracted. Elegant without sacrificing intensity.

This is a bottle that will continue to evolve for years, but if you’re enjoying it today, a long decant is highly recommended.

One of our favorite parts of Founder’s Reserve X and XI is what happens after the bottle leaves the cellar.

These wines are released without a front label, giving people the opportunity to make them their own — whether that means creating custom labels for celebrations and milestones, gifting them to friends and family, or simply enjoying the bottle as is.

Over the years, we’ve seen these wines become part of anniversaries, weddings, birthdays, and dinner tables shared with people who matter most.

Bud break is the moment the vineyard wakes back up after winter dormancy, using the carbohydrates stored from the previous season to fuel the first stages of spring growth.

These tiny shoots were already formed last year inside the buds themselves — now they finally begin to emerge. Nature is pretty incredible like that. 🌱

About a year into barrel, it wasn’t showing well.
The call was simple: move on.

But time has a way of changing things.

A few months later, everything shifted. What once felt off had completely transformed—into something layered, expressive, and impossible to ignore.

So instead of blending it away…
we bottled it on its own.

Now it’s one of our most popular wines.
