Harvest is underway. Right now our crew is out in the vineyard before sunrise, checking sugar levels and tasting fruit off the vine to catch each block at exactly the right moment. Every harvest writes its own story, shaped by this year's weather, timing, and a few surprises Mother Nature likes to throw in.

It's this exact mix of place, climate, and timing that makes our site-driven wines taste like nowhere else.

This Cabernet comes from one block: Block 45 of Quintessence Vineyard on Red Mountain, clone 33.

It spent 22 months aging in 50% new French oak before we let it out. Deep garnet in the glass, black cherry, fig, and toasted vanilla up front, then plum, black currant, and a finish of baking cocoa and clove.

Club members, this one's only for you. Drink now, or lay it down. It has 6 to 8 years ahead of it at its peak, with room to age even longer.

Fun fact: the soil under your glass survived a massive flood! Walla Walla Valley sits on sandy loess laid over fractured basalt and deposits from the ancient Missoula Floods, the same floods that carved much of the Pacific Northwest thousands of years ago.

That geology is a big part of why our reds carry the structure they do. Every bottle we pour started as a science experiment run by glaciers. Next time you're in the tasting room, ask us about it. We could talk soil for hours.
