The loss of Charlie Kirk is truly devastating. Please pray for his wife and young children.
While I don’t do politics on this page if you are at all happy about this horrible murder of a great man… kindly remove yourself from my farm page.
May God move through this nation like never before… we need YOU now!

As the kids are getting older and life is proving it’s not going to be slowing down but time keeps flying… changes are coming to our little farm.
Time is so precious and now with two kids preparing to go in different directions I want to have way more flexibility. So here we go!

To tell you a little about us and our farm still may take a while! As a child I spent summers at my Dad’s house and my grandparents farm in a small rural town in Washington state. The farm has seen 4 generations, my grandma moved there at age 3. As a kid I loved helping and always wanted a slice a heaven to call my own. I never dreamed we’d be blessed with such!
My husband and I have been married for 15 years and have 4 beautiful children ranging for 1-12 years old. We wanted to raise them growing and knowing about where the food on our table comes from and how to be compassionate towards other living things. We also wanted space! Not a lot was required, but a few acres to care for and maintain and to be just ours. In the small community of Deer Island, Or we found just that! The land was perfect but before we moved in we knew our family had outgrown the little old farmers house. It is a little house filled with love, from our the family that was here before and ours, it is such a welcoming little home and people who come kick off their shoes and just relax, that was what I had hoped for! But updates to the 3 bed 1 bath are in order, as well as a large addition that, if all goes well, will take place in 2019! But the land...you can always modify the house, the land is what the land is and it was what we wanted! Out here the stars shine so bright, so clear and it is so quiet and peaceful. A perfect escape from the city rush that is less than an hour away.
My peace is found when I can work in my garden and be with my animals. Watching my children grow healthy and strong in every possible way. It is not ever only sunshine and butterflies with all we have going but it is a way of life I love and can’t imagine any way else I’d rather it be.
On our little farm we are proud to raise a variety of chickens for eggs and meat. We also raise two breeds of registered goats; Pygora Fiber Goats and Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats. What started as a 4H project for my children has turned into a family passion! We are added some butcher pigs to the family in the spring and look forward to the well cared for meat they will provide for us and others. I also plan to add honey bees in the future, buck services, homegrown produce and handmade quality goats milk soap and home spun yarns and so much more! Many plans it will just take some patience and time!
We love our animals and enjoy the time we get with them. We love the amount of outdoor time we get as a family and the way that the chores, for animals or land, the responsibility, the sense of pride and accomplishment is so rewarding! Sometimes it is like pulling teeth to get the children to want to help on the really nasty days of winter but the fight is worth it! Our farm is small and is a “hobby” farm in the sense that we don’t make as much as we spend on it, but it is living and moving and growing, it is not a hobby you can put aside and come back to, it is a lifestyle and a constant demand.
Well there you have it a snap shot of our life on this farm, I really hope that you will follow us as we grow, learn, remodel, and watch the dreams we have come to reality! Our goals are big for these 4 acres of land and the blessings abound here. They are countless as the Dandelion seeds in the wind!
