From Charleigh’s mom:
In August of 2024, at just 10 months old, Charleigh was diagnosed with a rare cancer called Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis (LCH). It affected her lungs, liver, spleen, and several bones. She began chemotherapy immediately and fought through 15 rounds of her first treatment. In February of 2025, we learned the cancer had progressed with 3 new spots, which meant starting a completely different chemotherapy regimen. She endured 12 more cycles of chemo. During treatment, she suffered 3 fractures within months — from simply walking or minor falls — and has also battled seizures along the way.
In January 2026, she officially finished chemotherapy, and by February we were told her scans were clear. But after traveling to Cincinnati Children’s in May 2026 and reviewing her previous scans and ongoing symptoms, doctors now believe she has had active LCH this entire time.
We are now transitioning her care from Charlotte to Cincinnati Children’s. In June, Charleigh will be admitted for extensive scans and testing to finally get answers and clarity on where things stand.
Through every hospital stay, countless scans, 3 ports, 3 fractures (2 legs and 1 arm), seizures, and so much uncertainty, Charleigh has continued to show more strength and resilience than we ever thought possible. She is the strongest little girl we know, and we will never stop fighting for her and for her future.
