Bella delivered and Angus cross heifer this week. Calf and cow are healthy. For a first time milker, Bella’s an angel. We made it through the high heat and are thankful for the rain.

Never had ice hang around this long here in central NC. Lambs on the ground in less than a month. Hoping for a warm up!

Snow doesn’t melt on their backs—-because wool is insulating and keeps their heat in. That’s why you should also wear wool in the winter!

They have constant access to a warm dry barn but thought a snow day would be fun. We got 8” but it’s the cold that’s making it hard. All of 2026 has been hard so far.
So in case you, like me, could use some good news, let me tell you: Big Frank did his job and Bella is in calf. Due sometime late April-late June. Most likely will deliver right when Hannah graduates from vet school so I’ll be stressed the entire time. Thanks to the Mitchell’s for letting her go visit Big Frank and everyone along the way who has helped me. ❤️
