As fourth generation sugar makers my daughter Emily and I are at the sugar shack making sure we produce the best maple syrup we can in a time honored way. We constantly feed the boiler, check the temperatures, thickness and color of the cooking syrup. The darker the maple syrup the stronger the flavor.
