Sunshine Mountain Farm

Sunshine Mountain Farm Naturally raised grass fed beef, pork, goat. We also raise free range meat chickens and our laying hens that produce farm fresh eggs.

We are a family farm that has been in operation since 1998. We raise Angus/Simmental beef cows; for show or beef, Boer goats; for show or meat, and free range meat chickens. Our flock of free range laying hens produce brown, blue, pink, and green eggs. Recently, we have been producing farm fresh vegetables here on our farm, lettuce, cucumbers, peppers, zucchini, various types of squash, and tomatoes.

While James and I were on our way to check out the back field, we snuck up on Cookie doing what she does best, guarding baby goats. Cookie had been a tremendous addition to our farm, though I can't take responsibility for her training. Ryli is responsible for that, who has her own natural talent.

The next picture is of James and off to the far left is a calf who ventured out of the field. We still have to check the fence line for its full effect, though what a calm spring. I'm not sure if you all remember the story of the cow that charged Charlie prior to loading up for the auction? She routinely got out snd was a nuisance. It was my mission to ensure she discovered a new home. 😜

This is an image of the fence line that was riddled with those pricker bushes I've posted about. Only have a few more to exterminate. Progress in not a straight line, but we'll get there.

Last, but not least, this is what I picked up in my stroll while surveying fence and other necessary checks. Always something extra gets spread with manure.

Enjoy this beautiful day! 😁

Getting some shade with mom. Ryli and Cookie are taking a break from babysitting. I'm impressed with how natural Cookie is learning from Ryli how to guard.

Ryli and Cookie are watching the babies while mom eats. Can you see two babies?
