From Start to finish, here's what it takes to get honey to our customers at honey harvest time.
1. Prep the honey barn
2. Sanitize all equipment
3. Take honey supers off hives, brushing off bees 1 frame at a time.
4. Uncap each frame, place in extractor
5. Spin frames until empty....while praying the aging motor holds out for just a few more spins.
6. Lifting full 300lb honey tank on table so honey can be put in jars.
7. Filling sanitized 2qt glass jars and moving them to storage.
8.Straining honey and emptying capping tank.
9. Collecting Beeswax for further rendering.
10. Trying to clean the honey barn and all equipment of stickiness and wax!
11. Put spun frames back on hives for bees to clean.
12. Prep hives for winter!

Wine Slushies Available! This was a big hit last weekend, try it and you are sure to ask for another. We are now offering over a dozen different wines to taste. Relax inside or out and enjoy a glass of your favorite adult beverage from The Organic Press Farm Winery at Thornbee. Open Friday 3-7 pm, Saturday 12- 5 pm.

We anticipate harvesting our 2026 wine grapes next weekend depending of course on weather and grape conditions. The organic process only allows us to harvest, crush and add organic yeast, no added sulfites are allowed. The fermentation process provides such a wonderful aroma, a top spot to spend time.

Entertaining on the Farm
There was music last Friday for all to enjoy, Chef's in the kitchen on Saturday, groups in the winery and a grand birthday celebration on Sunday.

The "ROCK TUB" at Thornbee Farm is officially open. Kids are welcome to dig for ONE treasure gem whenever they visit the Farm. Parent supervision is recommended. Gems are small, so most appropriate for 3yrs and up, or with Parent assistance!
