I read about Scarlet Runner Beans and now I’m obsessed. I had a bag of Steve Sando and the Rancho Gordo staff beans in the pantry, so I took a few and soaked them overnight like Alexis Pare: Grow & Cook Your Own Food suggested. Now I’ve got these beautiful flowering vines everywhere and hopefully dried beans to keep for winter eating (and planting again next year).

My dill reseeded itself like crazy this year. Besides seemingly keeping the tomato hornworms at bay (the reason I’ve always planted it amongst the tomatoes), it makes the nicest filler plant in a vase of zinnias.
