The remaining 40 heifers came from Iowa Saturday morning. Today they got reunited with their old pen mates. A little calving update only 75-80 cows left to calve

With this little girl, we are officially over halfway done calving. She was number 200, but total calves are up to 215. Just a week ago, we were at 132 calves on the ground. It's been a busy week with an average of just over 10 calves a day.

132 calves worked and tagged, running around already. Just 268 left to go. Here is a video of the select herd today.

Life update! 😁 Normally we would have a bunch of calf pictures posted by now, but things look a little different this year. We’ll explain!

This spring we bought 50 bred heifers, bringing our herd number up to 100 head.

We also had the opportunity to lease Marissa’s grandparents’ herd and land, so we are in the process of calving out 400 cows and doing all the things to take care of them…along with the 20 horses and menagerie of other critters we have! 😅

It’s a big jump from the 55 cows we had last year so we won’t be posting every single calf that comes along, but we will be keeping you all updated on how calving and farm life is going! So far we have 33 calves on the ground 🤩
