I wish all second cutting was this nice. This field is the one that was lodged for 1st cutting, what a difference it makes when the crop is standing. This field produced 579 bales for first cutting and by the looks of it be close to 500 for second cutting!

New crop alert! We decided to plant a crop we haven’t grown before….this is German millet. It’s looking like it will provide us with extra tonnage for feed this winter.

Sky doesn’t look great, but trusting in the weather man so this hay can be dry to bale tomorrow. On a side note, raking with a tractor that has autosteer is a lot more handy than I thought it would be.

Onto second cutting, a little bit on the heavy bloom side of things but the cows won’t notice. We have been blessed with +2” of rain a week for the last 5 weeks. The rain has made it tough to put up hay!.

New and old! 🤠 Made a trip to Reichert Saddlery today for 2 new saddles!
So I had to crack out my 2011 model and get her all shined up again when we got home.
All 3 are Reichert brand saddles and we absolutely adore them!
Thank you so much Reichert ’s for helping us today! We’ll be back again soon! 😎

Not bad for 120 acres. First cutting done with 742 bales. Now onto grass hay and second cutting won’t be but just a few weeks away

Heavy windrows and 100 degrees makes for some good baling. Thank god for air conditioning!

I’m not sure what is worse only being able to cut hay at 9mph or having to rake at 5 mph. But I am thankful for a heavy first cutting!
