The bulb planting tool is very useful for transplanting seedlins from 3 inch pots or even 4 inch pots, into the garden. Pull the plug of soil. Plop in your seedling. Add the extra soil from the bulb tool. Done. Takes me less time than trying to dig the perfect little hole. Not a big deal, but for me personally, its easier. My bulb tool was given to me by a friend.

Happy World Bee Day! Without them, we wouldnt exist.
Theyre out there spreading pollen and making sure plant life doesnt cease to exist. Without plants, many animals and ourselves, wouldnt have food, and in the great big picture, we wouldnt be here.
If a bee lands on you, dont swat at it. She is taking a break from all her hard work If you are sweaty, she will lick the sweat to get essential minerals she needs to continue her labor.
We have many native bees here in Arkansas from very very small to the massive bumble bees that must use magic to fly because it doesnt seem like they should be able to. Each one is important.
In the spring, the little white lowers in lawns (Virginia Spring Beauty) are essential food for pollinators. Many times you will see European honey bees on them. Another important spring and summer food source is clover.
As summer comes closer, they enjoy elderberry, blackberry, and many other local blooms. In the fall they tend to go after golden rod and whatever else may be blooming.
Pause today if you see a bee. They are not after you. They will not sting unless you swat, grab, or squish them. Appreciate all their hard work.

He really needs a forever home. He is such a good boy and just wants to be around people. Anyone willing to put in some more work with training and consistency, would have one incredible companion. He knows sit, lay down, no(with a snap). We can have a group of folks sitting outside eating a meal, and if he begs, the "no" with a snap works, and then he will either wander off and mind his business, or he will lay down and do the same...and quicker if he is told to lay down. Calm assertive is what he needs. He wouldnt do well locked in a crate all day. If you've got a little land, he will protect it. He will protect his people and alert them if something seems off. We cant say enough good about this dog.
He is young and unneutered, so ASAP, he needs to get that taken care of. He just wants to make his people happy. Ill share more updated photos soon as I can.

I saw a Facebook posts recently about someone looking for farms that sell products cheaper than retail stores. We as farmers keep our products as low as we can, we really strive to give consumers the very best price we can. However, most often we will never be able to match retail store pricing. We need to talk about scale to understand why that is.

A grocery store chain will often buy beef, pork, chicken, eggs, and produce by the truckload from massive industrial systems designed for maximum volume and efficiency.

Small farms:
•Often raise fewer animals
•Use more labor per animal
• Buy feed in smaller quantities
•Pay higher processing costs per pound
• Sell directly to families instead of nationwide distributors
•We have to no only farm; but we have to be our own marketing agency. In short , we have to wear many hats.

A small farm may process in a year, way less than a large operation will before lunch.

That scale difference matters.

When you buy from a local farm you are not just buying food.
You are helping to support:
•Local Jobs
• Local food security
•Smaller supply chains
•More transparency
•A producer you can actually talk to

We may never beat industrial food on price alone.

But many families choose local because they value where their food comes from, how it was raised, and keeping farms in their communities.

I understand money is often tight. But can you really put a price of food security and nutrient density?
