This year for the Summer Solstice, we're hosting our biggest Foodlore Fridays event of the season! We are thrilled to be hosting The Wilson Springs Hotel on the stage. This Virginia-born five-piece band blends folk, rock & roll, bluegrass, and classic country into a high-energy live sound. Formed in 2021, the band has quickly built a loyal following through relentless touring and standout festival appearances at DelFest, FloydFest, and Rooster Walk. They just released an album in March called The Day the Bloodroot Bloomed, and we can't wait to hear new and familiar tunes from them.

Our friends from Penny's Imperfect Pizza will be serving up delicious pies from the outdoor kitchen and we will be pouring cider and wine in the North Stable. Ring in the solstice on June 19 with us at Oakley Farm!

We’re delighted to announce the 2026 Foodlore Fridays summer lineup, returning to Oakley Farm beginning May 22 for Memorial Day weekend and continuing every Friday through September 4 of Labor Day weekend, from 4–8 PM.

This summer marks the seventh season of Foodlore Fridays, and we’re so excited to gather again for another season of shared meals, live music, and community in the mountains. Throughout the summer, we’ll welcome an inspiring lineup of chefs and food makers to our outdoor kitchen alongside talented local and regional musicians performing each Friday evening. This summer’s live music program is generously sponsored by the Virginia Hot Springs Preservation Trust.

Whether you’ve joined us for years or are planning your first visit, we can’t wait to welcome you back to Oakley Farm for Foodlore Fridays this summer.

Today marks the beginning of our first full Thursday–Sunday week at Oakley Farm.

Since starting this project in 2018, we’ve slowly been listening to what wants to come forward here. We began by restoring the historic stable into a cider production space and planting trees in the orchard. When people first started wanting to visit the farm, we welcomed them at a picnic table or on the porch of the old manor house. Tastings were by appointment only, and Foodlore Fridays became our weekly gathering point.

Over the years—and alongside growing our family—we’ve slowly expanded with the support of a growing team. What began as occasional openings became seasonal Fridays and Saturdays, and eventually year-round weekends.

Today feels meaningful as we begin opening the farm four days a week. This place is our home, our work, and in many ways, our dream. We’re deeply grateful to everyone who has supported the farm along the way, and we look forward to welcoming you here.

We’ll be open Thursday through Sunday for Mother’s Day weekend, and continuing in this rhythm for the foreseeable future. Visit our website to learn more about planning your visit.> Swipe to step back into the early years of Oakley Farm.

Troddenvale’s Spring Release arrives next week, featuring four new ciders from the 2024 and 2025 harvests.

This release includes two new Farm Ciders from the Oakley orchard. These bottlings are a result of the past several years—of what has held, what hasn’t, and how we’ve adapted along the way.

After another difficult stretch of unpredictable spring weather this year, cider from the Oakley Orchard feels particularly hard-earned. One thing that has become clear to us in our six years of farming is the lack of consistency and the abundance of volatility year to year. With climate change making its indisputable impact on our spring weather patterns, we are learning to stretch our riches in good years and be creative in tough ones.

Join our Cider Subscription this month to receive the Spring Release. Quantities are limited, and the subscription is the most reliable way to access these bottlings. Stay tuned for our formal announcement next week, as a small number of bottles will be available individually following our release.

As this new chapter at Oakley Farm begins to unfold, we’re making a small but meaningful change to the way Foodlore Provisions orders work.

With our expanded hours launching next week, you’ll now be able to choose the day you’d like to pick up your provisions when placing an order online. Foodlore pickups can now be scheduled Thursday through Sunday, aligning with the rhythm of the farm.

The online shop opens Mondays at 9 a.m. and closes Thursdays at 9 a.m. At checkout, simply go to “How to get it” → “Edit” → “Schedule Order” to select the pickup option that works best for you.

Additionally, we will be offering a Sunday delivery option exclusively for Members of the Owners Club at The Owners Club at The Homestead.

When ordering, just select Sunday as your scheduled pickup day and add ‘Owners Club Delivery’ to the comments section at checkout. Your provisions will be delivered directly to Owners Club homes, stocked and ready for you upon check-in.

Each week, the Foodlore shop features a rotating selection of seasonal goods from farmers, bakers, and producers across the region — often representing as many as twenty local producers. The offering shifts with the seasons and with what’s coming in from the fields and kitchens around us.

Place a pre-order online to secure your items, or stop by during open hours to browse in person.
