We look forward to hosting you this week as kick off our 7th season of Foodlore Fridays! What began as a simple way to bring people together around food has grown into one of our favorite summer traditions, and we’re grateful to continue it with all of you.

New in the shop this week - Virginia Wheat Campanelle Dry Pasta by !

Made with a mix of semolina flour and Virginia-grown wheat flour, this whole wheat pasta is a lighter alternative to traditional pastas. Balanced and delicately flavored, this pasta is perfect in just about anything, but the Scratch team’s go-to move is mixing it with some delicious pesto. Fun fact: this pasta was awarded runner-up for the food category in the 2019 Garden & Gun Made in the South Awards!

’s mixed color Ranunculus bouquets are back this week and as beautiful as ever! We also have some delicious seasonal options from  including their Cheese Danish and Blueberry Crumble Bun. The Blueberry Crumble Bun, pictured here, is made of pillowy soft brioche and topped with vanilla pastry cream, fresh blueberries, and an almond-oat streusel.

We are also highlighting Kilmer’s Farm Market EverCrisp apples. The EverCrisp is a popular hybrid of the Honeycrisp and Fuji apples, known for its sweet-tart flavor, exceptional crispness, and juicy texture, making it excellent for snacking and versatile enough for baking, sauces, and salads. Sold in 5 pound bags.

A week full of warm weather makes the whole farm feel abuzz. We are excited to host a SOLD OUT Wine Tasting in the Hayloft this Friday, so thank you to those that jumped on tickets and will be joining us! The North Stable is open on Fri. and Sat. for small bites and ciders by the glass or bottle.

This week’s menu is full of rotating favorites as well as some new delicious items to try!

We are excited to add Magdalena Cafe & Bakery’s empanadas to the ‘From the Kitchen’ section of our offerings. brings a unique twist to baking by infusing American, European, and South American styles. Owner Albi is originally from Uruguay and her passion for baking and cooking comes from her mother, Magdalena, who provided for their family by selling her hand-crafted cheese, pasteles, and sweets for which she was famous. Albi brings that same care to everything she bakes in Staunton, VA.

Join ​us on Friday, April 17 for a wine tasting event in the Hayloft.

Troddenvale cidermaker Will Hodges will lead an immersive wine tasting exploring the “New California” movement — a shift away from heavily extracted, oak-driven wines toward styles that emphasize freshness, balance, and a clearer expression of place. This new generation of winemakers prioritizes thoughtful farming, earlier picking, and minimal intervention in the cellar, allowing the character of the vineyard and vintage to shine through. The tasting will feature diverse varietals from the Sierra Foothills, Central Coast, and Napa Valley, highlighting a spirit of experimentation that is reshaping California’s wine identity.

The event begins promptly at 5:30pm and will be hosted in the hayloft of Oakley Farm’s historic North Stable. Advance tickets include a curated tasting of 5 wines and light bites, followed by an opportunity to purchase bottles and/or dinner from Gardner’s Harvest. We ask that you arrive 15 minutes early so that the event may start on time.

Please Note: This event is limited to 20 tickets and reservations are required. All participants must be 21+ years old to attend.

New in the shop this week - coffee beans! Recluse is a two person coffee roasting company started by Aimee Biggerstaff and Jack Fleming in Richmond, Virginia. They source beans that make sweet, bright, and easy to drink coffees you want to come back to. They roast once a week on Wednesdays and have a rotating menu of fresh-crop coffees. We are excited to have a few kinds to offer you in the shop: Shyira, Cual Bicicleta, + Decaf Colombia de Caña.

Bring the outside in with these beautiful bouquet varieties from Yonderyear Farm including Tango Ranunculus + Gudoshnik Double Tulips. in Rockbridge Baths is a small, diversified flower, perennial fruit and livestock farm owned and operated by Kevin and Amanda Green. Lush cut flower fields are supported by perennial orchards, pastured animals and honeybees whose work together is slow-grown and dictated by the seasons. Yonderyear is 100% solar-powered and chemical and pesticide-free. Flower types change seasonally.
