Gnarly Farm

Gnarly Farm Nate + Charlei are Gnarly Farm. Working on bringing back to life a defunct antique farm and New England farmhouse on 33 acres in Warner, NH.

Loosely focused on flowers, fruit trees, plants starts, and veg as we have it.

The peonies are coming in slowly, because their baby plants, so maybe next year I will have loads and loads of them, but I'm not sad about this bouquet. It's already claimed, but I'll be sure to let everyone know when I have more in the stand. Dahlias will go in once this freak storm passes this weekend.

I have some extras of some plants that I've purchased for my cut flowers that also double as amazing architecture in a garden. This is a cultivar of Culver's Root called "Challenger," and I have a few other varieties of Culver's Root I need to pot up in other colors and 4 very cool sedum varieties.

These are $12 each in quart sized pots at the stand.

I know people talk about mint being the bane of their existence, but I love a good mint, and I love a good interesting mint. I have four different kinds for sale: apple, strawberry, black currant, and berries n cream. If you only have a small amount of space, definitely put it in the large pot so it can fill out and not ruin your garden beds, but my approaches I have plenty of semi crappy areas that I absolutely don't mind being taken over by something that I can make tea out of or garnish a fancy drink with. Other perennial herbs as well and more coming as I pot up in the evenings.

Perennial herbs and rhubarb starts are $5 each unless otherwise marked. Potted up some basil and trying to figure out a good caprese deal if you buy a tomato and basil 😆 last year we referred to our row of tomatoes and basil is just our "pizza row" in the garden.

Cash, card, Venmo. Flowers will be back shortly!

I have another tray to go out later today, just didn't get to it this morning. Other herbs coming as I have time to pot them into the bigger pots. The Arp Rosemary is hardy to zone 6, so might be easier to overwinter with protection or inside. I do miss having a giant SHRUB of rosemary like in Florida, but I'll take cool summer evenings in exchange for not having that anymore.

Brief break in cut flowers until the peonies are slightly more developed. Dahlias are overdue for planting but the warm weather flowers should be shortly behind.

The narcissus (narcs as I like to call them for short) are winding down and this may be the last batch of bouquets before the peonies come in (I think a watched peony isn't far off from a watched pot).

3 bouquets in the stand and if I find anymore I can wrangle I'll add them. Come get em before they're gone!

That fun double-headed Pom Pom Rose is in one of the bouquets, but I'll leave it to you to see if you find which one.

As usual, 191 Schoodac Rd. - cash, card, and Venmo and if you log on the clipboard it's always appreciated. ❤️

Mixed tulip bouquets are out in the stand on this rainy day and we have literal tables full of fancy frilly narcissus. The narcissus are on their way out in the garden so get them while you can. Won't have those petticoat flowers again until next spring! Disappointed we don't have peonies in time for Mother's Day, but don't worry, when they come in your mother would probably still love if you bought her some and we'll still be here!

Please leave the black and silver flower buckets, but feel free to take a vase under the counter if you purchase a bouquet (sorry those may be a smidge dusty, but should just need a rinse) and the vases with the narcissus can go with them. If you have no use for a vase or jar after the flowers fade, we'd love to take them back off your hands. We are also happy to take any empty jam jars, or other small and medium sized jars off your hands if you pass us on the way to the transfer station or around town as it's hard to find just the right vessel for the flowers some times and recycling is our favorite 💚

I came home from Cafe One East after very nearly selling out (dipped before the rain started to pour down) and found 2 more bundles of pink tulips in one of my fridges. Oops. So if anyone waited until the last minute on the flowers for mom, I should have them out by 3 in the stand. They will be straight pink tulip bunches since I ran out of pre-soaked pink narcissus to mix in (narcissus bleeds a sap that can wilt other flowers so they need a bath on their own before they share water with friends).

Happy Mother's Day everyone!

Mixed pink tulips and narcissus are out in the stand. Working on the red color pallette now. The rain threw a wrench in the outside-is-my-flower-studio plan.
