Picked up this massive rondeau- 35lbs, 24” diameter, 3.2mm. Way too big and impractical, but had to have it. Came from service with the BTHS (British Hotel Transport Services). Seller believes “GEH” is Great Eastern Hotel which seems to check out as it was operated by the BTHS. I need a bigger stove now…

Restored this 100+ year old Gaillard roasting pan. Lucky me, a beautiful new knife from arrived the same day it was completed. My favorite part of the pan are the battle scars from its many years of service. I look forward to bringing it back to work this Christmas with a nice rib roast.

At first glance, this little pan doesn’t look like much—but it’s hiding something extraordinary. Look closely at the sides. See those markings? They’re not just decoration. They’re actually engravings from old printing plates, recycled and repurposed to make this one-of-a-kind piece, likely dating back 150 years. I stumbled on it a couple of years ago, and luckily, no one else spotted its secret during the auction. Scroll through the photos and take a closer look; can you make out what the text says?

I’ve spent the past two years on a project to create 3mm copper baking sheets. After all the planning, designing, and iterating, I finally have a reproducible product that I wanted to share.

Stats:
Dimensions: 9”x13”
Thickness: 3-3.17mm (1/8”)
Weight: 5.5-6.0lbs

I have two for sale, $350 each as an introductory price to the market. I will have more available in the future. Copper is very expensive and these take quite some time to take from sheet to final product.

Important note:
I do all of this work in my home shop. While largely consistent in design, I am not a large manufacturer with gigantic draw press machinery. As such, each piece has its own characteristics. You can examine the pictures below.

Thanks for letting me share this with you! I’m happy to have finally reached this point!
