Long Lane Farm uses organic and sustainable practices to grow a wide variety of organic vegetables, including heirloom tomatoes, arugula, bunched greens, root vegetables, peppers, and many others.

Where we started vs where we are…

The historic blizzard of 2026 wasn’t that long ago and the damage to our farm was devastating and it made for a stressful start to our season. But just 6 months later and our new greenhouses are up and built with the strongest steel you can find! I can’t recommend these Beilers Greenhouses enough..

We have some work to do to get these greenhouses functional and ready for planting: electricity upgrades, reworking the soil and making new beds after the grass quickly took them back this season, new water lines. But they should be ready for planting early spring 2027!

I really can’t believe it’s October and another farm season is almost in the books. Given the rough start to our season, it was a productive season and we were especially proud of our tomato crop this year. Now we’ve been ripping those tomato plants out of the tunnel and planting them into late fall/ winter greens for the past couple weeks.

Of course the biggest joy of the season has been watching our little farm baby grow and blossom and thrive ❤️❤️

🎉 Last week we got to take a break from farming to celebrate all of the people behind Long Lane Farm who’ve worked all season to bring healthy good food to you.

We enjoyed some great food, great company, and s’mores over the bonfire. We get to work together all week but the farm work day is busy and fast moving so it was nice to take some time to slow down and just hang out at the farm.

Our team features a wide range of people and backgrounds : teachers, artists, aspiring farmers, moms and of course the dogs! The important thing we all share is a respect and kindness towards each other even when the work is hard and the days are hot.

I’m really thankful for you all! Thanks team 🙏

The Salad Green 🥬 situation is A+++ this week

Jules and I were on it bright and early this morning harvesting and packing fresh greens for the stand. We’ve got the trio in abundance this weekend : salad mix, arugula, and super salad. Thankful for the quick cuts green harvester on my solo harvest mornings as I was able to get 60 pounds of greens in under an hour all by myself !

The tomato situation is still prime and our cherry tomato mix now features some yellow and bronze torch cherry tomatoes, I’m a big fan. Peppers 🌶️ are abundant right now too and this weekends line up features lunchbox, shisito, habanada, jalapeño, Hungarian hot wax, and sweet Italian frying peppers.

It’s officially August! What’s up at the farm??

Bountiful harvests continue and we’re lined up for a really nice August. While we still can’t keep up with the greens demand, the other veggies are flowing in : tomatoes, basil, beans ( I’m pictured in the towering pole bean trellis), beets, sweet peppers and more.

In addition to harvesting, we’ve been turning our sights towards fall on the farm. Lately, we’ve been planting our fall broccolini, carrots, beets, cabbage, kohlrabi, and watermelon radishes. As a farmer, you always have to stay one step and one season ahead.

We are dearly missing our greenhouses but the rebuild should be happening this fall, likely in October. Between your generous Go fund me donations and emergency grant funds, we are able to build 4 new greenhouses that will be stronger, sleeker, just more professional overall. We can’t wait to have them back but we are proud at how we pivoted this season and are happy with all that we have been able to produce and provide for our community.

Enjoy the start of August and we will see you at the farm. I had to include a picture of my new ( used) tractor because I just think she’s so cute 😎

Officially sold out of salad mix for the time being!

We tried our best to keep up with the lettuce 🥬 demand but our small farm only has so many beds to plant and we’ve harvested through everything that was ready. We saw almost a quadrupling of lettuce sales last week.

I wish I could snap my fingers and have more lettuce NOW but obviously that’s not how it works. The lettuce for this week had to be planted a month ago and we did not have a crystal ball to see this coming.

That being said, we have plenty of other tasty things to enjoy. The tomatoes are abundant so maybe it’s time to swap out your lettuce based salad for a caprese or tomato bread salad this weekend?

The stand is also full of eggplant, onions, carrots, zucchini and squash, beets, radish, kale, turnips, herbs, baby bok choi and microgreens.

Thanks for understanding and thanks for supporting our farm stand. We know there are likely many new people visiting our stand lately as they try to avoid the uncertainty that currently comes with grocery store veggies so we say welcome to Long Lane Farm

* Note to self : Next year, plan for a widespread food borne illness in the mainstream food supply in the already busiest time of year and plant more greens

We don’t know if it’s the cyclospora outbreak or tomato excitement, but things are flying off the shelf right now. We saw a busy Friday in the farm stand and woke up today to do more harvesting and packing and stocking to make sure the farm stand shelves and fridge are full for the weekend.

Tomatoes, zucchini, salad mix, fairytale and Italian eggplant 🍆 onions 🧅 , carrots, cucumbers, beets, and herbs are abundant!

It’s time like these that show us just how fragile the main stream food system is and just how resilient and important local food producers are to their regions. Eat more local food..

It’s what we wait all winter for: 🍅🍅 Tomato abundance!

And after this past winter we all really deserve vine- ripened delicious heirloom and cherry tomatoes in our lives . Here’s your permission to eat tomatoes at every meal and put them on/ in everything : BLTS, bruschetta, caprese, just a big honking slice of an heirloom on some nice bread with a pinch of salt.

Tomatoes will be in abundance in the stand all weekend so come and get them! We’ve also got plenty of salad mix, carrots, beets, red crisp head lettuce, onions and zucchini.

We also just got in a fresh batch of stickers. I think we need to get this sticker design on a hoodie, what do you think??

🔥🇺🇸 July 4th update..

Yes we are open today, on the 4th and all weekend normal hours 8 am- 6 pm! The crew worked through the heat all week to harvest you an abundance for the holiday weekend.

The tomatoes have started to trickle in and are available in limited quantities. Gorgeous heads of lettuce just started coming in from the fields for burgers and BLTS. We’ve got lots of zucchini, summer squash, greens, beets, carrots, broccolini, herbs and turnips.

7 month old baby Naiya is really enjoying the “fruits” of summer and has been trying lots of new foods lately. Her personal favorite is blueberries 🫐 since they also make a great face paint 😂

Enjoy this hot hot holiday weekend with families and friends. We can’t wait to be part of your cookouts and celebrations.

🔥🥵☀️ Heat wave update!

We had originally planned to staff the plant sale today in the greenhouse but due to the extremely high temperatures coming today, we have decided that’s not safe for our staff or visitors. Instead, we’ve put a wide selection of plants next to the farm stand for self serve sales. And even better, we are running a special! All plants for $3.50 or fill a whole flat for $50.

Venmo cash or check are the best way to pay. If you are wondering if a specific plant variety is out next to the stand, just ask! We will also have plants for sale Sunday and all next week

The farm stand fridge is also loaded to the brim as we are harvesting some stunning and delicious veggies out of the fields and tunnels right now. The first cucumbers and zucchini make their appearance this weekend. We will be sure to keep salad mix and arugula well stocked because this heat wave weekend is definitely giving salad vibes
