🌻 Our Certified Organic Plant Sale continues this weekend Sat the 16th and Sun the 17th from 9 am - 1 pm.

The first weekend was a great success and we thank everyone who came to shop. We have a fresh round of plants for weekend two and our full selection is available. And the weather is looking perfect for putting plants in the ground.

The farmstand is now open everyday 8 am - 6 pm. The greens, rhubarb, turnips, radishes, and bok choi are plentiful right now. The farm stand freezer also returns this weekend full of our own arugula pesto, Mel Mel dumplings and sausage and ground beef from Pats Pastured.

So many good reasons to visit the farm this weekend. Maybe you’ll even get a visit from Baby Naiya 😊

🌻 Plant Sale continues today Sunday May 10th from 9 am- 1 pm! And it’s Dev’s birthday!

While we did sell out of some things on the first day, we still have a great plant selection. And if anything sells out early today, we are open again next weekend.

Here is what sold out so you know:
• Striped German, Oxheart, German Johnson, Cherokee Purple, Black Krim 🍅 Varities
• Lemon Cucumbers
• Yellow Summer Squash
• Dino Kale and Romaine Lettuce 🥬
• Large Basil Pots but we have plenty of basil 4 packs

It does look like the temperatures are stabilizing towards the end of this week and hopefully we are turning towards warmer weather. With no sign of frost, it is safe to put your plants in.

And Happy Mothers Day to all the moms out there 💚

🥬 Plant Sale Weekend is Finally Here!

Our 4th annual Certified Organic Plant sale opens this Saturday May 9th and Sunday May 10th from 9 am- 1 pm. The crew has worked hard for two months seeding and repotting so many plants and their hard work has paid off as these are the nicest plants we’ve ever grown.

For the first weekend alone, we seeded 720 tomato plants, 15 flats of basil, and 320 cucumbers just to name a few. Our edible flower selection is huge this year and our leafy green plants are looking great.

If you can’t make it this weekend, we will also be open next weekend Sat and Sun as well as June 13th.

The farm stand is also open Thursday - Sunday from 8 am - 6 pm and this weeks selection features salad mix, spinach, arugula, turnips, bok choi, rhubarb, microgreens, baby kale, and super salad.

💚 We can’t wait to see you at the farm this weekend. Bring your moms, tell your friends, and get those gardens ready.

😢💔 We had to say goodbye to our beloved farm cat Couscous this morning

At only a year and a half old, this unbelievably sweet cat left us far too soon. We aren’t sure of the exact cause but it seems that some kind of virus infected her and caused her to develop a severe neurological issue that led to paralysis. It happened quickly. Just one week ago she was hunting bunnies and running around the farm as the happy girl that she was.

Couscous was the farm mascot. We’ve never known such a social cat. She was always there to greet us and any visitors to the farm. She just wanted to be with people and to be cuddled as much as possible. I couldn’t have designed a more ideal farm cat if I tried. Along with her great personality, she was an amazing hunter.

Last summer when Dev was pregnant with Naiya, Couscous would regularly lay on Dev’s big belly and purr incessantly for as long as Dev allowed it. This will always be one of my fondest memories of this cat. She was so sweet to baby Naiya too.

The farm will feel a lot more empty without her loud and adorable personality. She will be forever loved and forever missed. If you knew her, think of her today ♥️

After a slow and strange start to the season due to two of our greenhouse collapsing during the blizzard, we are so happy to finally open the doors of our farm stand this weekend and to start getting fresh organic produce to our community again.

See you this weekend 💚

So when will the Farmstand open for the season?

Well it was supposed to be this past weekend. We planned to open up the stand for Easter weekend so that you all could include our local veggies in your holiday meals.

The blizzard damage changed everything though. We were supposed to have 2 full greenhouses planted in early spring greens, bok choi, radishes, and turnips. Instead, two greenhouses are damaged beyond repair and can’t be planted at all. Without this greenhouse space, we don’t have enough early crops to open the stand yet.

Once we are able to harvest from the fields, we will open the stand. That’s likely around the start of May. At the very least, the stand will open for plant sale opening weekend, which is Mother’s Day Weekend. We are eager to get to this weekend..

For now, we will offer online orders when we can as we have been able to harvest some greens and microgreens from the greenhouse that did stand after the storm. Rhubarb will be here in a couple of weeks and that will be offered online too..

It’s been a weird start to the season to say the least and we can’t wait for bountiful harvests and an overflowing farm stand. It will be here before we know it.

Community work day, mark your calendars Saturday April 11th

As long as the weather cooperates, we will plan to begin taking down one of the damaged tunnels on April 11th from 9 AM- 3 PM. Many have asked when they can help and this will be the first chance, now that the weather has somewhat stabilized and we have some answers on our rebuilding plan going forward

If you have cordless power tools like impact drivers and ladders, bring those. Many of the tasks of the day will be up on a ladder, but there are some on ground level too. There will be a lot of taking out bolts, taking apart long metal pieces and moving that metal to the scrap pile.

If you can make it, comment on this post or direct message. Staying for the whole 6 hours is not required. We will post and confirm the work date as we get closer.

We weren't sure when we would be able to rebuild new tunnels, but things are moving forward more quickly than we had anticipated. This is a good thing but it means we are on a deadline to get these damaged tunnels down and out of here. Then we can rebuild stronger, better, more resilient for the future. Let's get these tunnels growing food again just like in the picture below..

In an otherwise rough start to the farm season, today was a win! We divided up 3 year old rhubarb crowns and turned them into more rhubarb rows.

We dug up 17 crowns and were able to turn those into 60 crowns that we transplanted into two new beds. It’s all part of my master plan to become solely a rhubarb farmer. Ok I’m kidding, but it is our plan to have at least 150 crowns planted on the farm not only for harvest of the stems but also to divide crowns and sell them to the public.

I just have to give rhubarb its due. In a farm full of needy annual veggies, this perennial power house is no fuss and all reward. And even better, the deer don’t care for them!

Farm 🐈 Couscous was of course very involved and she’s very happy that people are back on the farm. After we were done planting, Dev and baby Naiya came out to see what we had been up to all morning.

It’s been wet and soggy around here so we all agreed that finally getting in the fields to play around was very much needed. Now let’s hope for warm and dry days ahead so we can really get this farm season started!
