One of the toughest questions that we were asked 3 years ago: "Are your products placed in the Gluten-free section or World food aisle?" Obviously, we took a chance to compete with the rest of the brands, even the limited non GF products.

We brought our spice boxes and empty jars to show elementary school students how we labeled our products. One kid even declared that he wanted to become a box designer one day. Many of them were excited about the noodle bowls too. The consensus said they deserved $100 or $1000/hr if they were our employees 😂 Kids say the cutest things!

(Part 1/2) Today I received a letter that I wrote to myself a year and half ago. It was part of an exercise for small businesses still navigating their way in the retail world. When I wrote this note I was spiritually broken. A loved one was battling an illness, then I took a mammogram that required a second test which created more anxiety and uncertainty. I questioned my purpose and the longevity of the company.

Business experts will all say that if your products survive the 3 year mark you are safer. That's where we are PHEW! 😅 But feeling safer doesn't guarantee success, so while your products continue to sell, you also have to plan the next move whether it's through product expansion or obtaining new retailers. This letter arrived back to me just in time. The sun is beaming. I'm still hopeful for the future. Most importantly, I love what I do ❤️...stay tuned for part 2 of what else was in this ✉️

Networking opportunities and education have fueled our small business, providing us with more resources as we continue to grow.

This week, we slowed down from production and focused on the future. As part of being a local small business under Meijer's support program, we were given a score to see how we did this year. We're happy to share that sales increased and products were moving faster than last year! Thank you to everyone who has continued to follow our retail journey, share our products with friends and family, and purchased our mix packets and spice jars!
