TACO NIGHT IS BACK 🌮

This Friday, October 2, we’re doing things a little differently.

From 5–9 PM, Beautiful Whirl’d becomes basically one big taco operation.

You’ll still be able to get our everyday favorites:

Chicken
Beef
Veggie

But Taco Night also means the return of the specialty lineup:

BBQ Chicken — grilled chicken tossed in Althea’s sweet & tangy BBQ, cheddar + slaw

Chipotle Beet — marinated roasted beets, lettuce, pickled red onion, feta, avocado + chipotle crème

Sweet & Spicy Fish — marinated baked white fish, slaw + mango jalapeño sauce

Buffalo Chicken — buffalo chicken, black bean & corn salsa, cheddar, chipotle ranch + greens

Sweet Potato — roasted sweet potatoes, black bean & corn salsa, cheddar, chipotle ranch + mixed greens

Creole Shrimp — Creole shrimp, black bean & corn salsa, cheddar, chipotle ranch + mixed greens

We’ll also have all of our beverages, including smoothies, plus Açaí Bowls and Coconut Bowls.

One important note: from 5–9 PM, the rest of our regular food menu will not be available. It’s tacos, bowls, and drinks all night.

And right next door, Modern Methods will be hosting their every-other-month Night Market, so downtown Warren should have a little extra life Friday night.

Plot twist: there’s no dairy making this tomato soup creamy.

Our Creamy Tomato Soup gets its richness from raw cashews + coconut milk, with fire-roasted tomatoes and garlic.

It’s creamy.

It’s comforting.

It’s vegan.

And it happens to be sharing a menu with a four-cheese Tuscan Grilled Cheese right now, which creates a pretty obvious lunch situation. 😂

This is one week at Beautiful Whirl’d.

Not food. Not sales. Not catering orders.

Recycling. 😂

Every box, can, bottle and piece of cardboard in this pile could have gone straight into the trash. Instead, we save it throughout the week for Clover Recycling to pick up.

Is it the glamorous side of owning a restaurant? Absolutely not.

But when you serve as many people as we do, little decisions pile up pretty quickly.

In this case, literally.

We’ve cared about being environmentally responsible since we opened Beautiful Whirl’d. Most of that doesn’t make for particularly exciting pictures. It looks more like breaking down boxes, separating cans and bottles, and having a corner of the restaurant look like this until pickup day.

One week.

Then we start another pile. ♻️💚

Chicken & Dumpling Soup is one of them.

Warm. Hearty. Familiar.

The kind of soup that tastes like it should come with a story about whose grandma taught you how to make it. 😂

There’s a Grateful Dead bear painted on one of our doors.

That probably tells you more about Beautiful Whirl’d than a professionally written mission statement ever could.

This place was never supposed to feel like somebody designed a restaurant, ordered the approved restaurant decorations, and called it a day.

There are painted doors.

Greenery everywhere.

A ridiculous number of little lights.

Things with stories behind them.

Things that make absolutely no sense unless you ask.

And somehow, all of it belongs here.

We’ve always felt the same way about people.

You don’t have to match the room to have a place in it.

Maybe that’s the whole point.

For years, people would walk in and ask us, “Do you serve breakfast?”

For years, the answer was basically… not really. 😂

Eventually we decided maybe all those people were onto something.

So now mornings at Beautiful Whirl’d can look like this: an omelet loaded with veggies, fresh fruit on the side, and coffee — or waffles, breakfast tacos, crunchwraps, smoothie bowls and whatever else fits the kind of morning you’re having.

I think one of the strangest parts of owning a restaurant for ten years is realizing how much of it has been shaped by people simply asking us for things.

Breakfast is one of those things.

This one has already proven itself.

We brought the Vegan Smashed Bean Wrap back for September + October: black bean spread, avocado and vegan slaw wrapped up together.

No complicated ingredient list.

No pretending a meatless lunch needs to be boring.

Just really good food that happens to be vegan. 🌱

And apparently a whole bunch of you already know about this one.
