CBD Cake for the Holidays? Yes, Please! New on the H**pire blog, we're baking with Full Spectrum H**p Oils! Today's recipe is a moist Gingerbread Bundt Cake with a CBD Lemon glaze incorporating our Full Spectrum H**p Oil in Energizing. These oils' light lemon citrus flavor blends perfectly with this glaze for a cake topping that's simply delicious. INGREDIENTS- Gingerbread Bundt Cake
-2 1/2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
-2 3/4 tsp ginger
-1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
-1 tsp nutmeg
-1/2 tsp cloves
-1/2 tsp allspice
-1/2 tsp salt
-1/4 tsp baking soda
-1 tsp baking powder
-3/4 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
-1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
-2 large eggs, at room temperature
-1/2 cup molasses
-1 cup water
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 350. Lightly grease a 10 to 12 cup Bundt pan.
In a large bowl whisk together the flour, spices, salt, baking soda, & baking powder. Set aside.
In a medium-size bowl, beat the butter & sugar until fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well & scraping the bottom & sides of the bowl after mixing in each one. Stir in the molasses.
Split into 3 additions, add the flour mixture alternately with the water, starting & ending with the flour. Mix just until smooth.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
Bake the cake for 55 to 65 minutes, or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
While the cake is baking, make the CBD Lemon Glaze (see recipe below). Set aside.
Remove cake from oven, cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a cooling rack.
INGREDIENTS- CBD Lemon Glaze.
-1 3/4 cup powdered sugar
-Juice from one lemon (approx. 1/4 cup)
-Lemon zest from juiced lemon
-1/2 Tbs. salted butter
Full Spectrum H**p Oil - Energizing (any size bottle) We used 6 droppers (.50 mL each) in this batch.
INSTRUCTIONS
Zest one lemon then use a medium bowl mix together sugar, lemon juice, & lemon zest.
Stir until smooth & lump-free.
Add in butter & warm in the microwave 45 seconds. Stir.
