Two years in Old Town Warrenton, and the surprises keep coming!

Surprise Six: Parking And Traffic Here Are Actually (Relatively) Easy!

We know this one is controversial, so hear us out y'all!! When we were considering opening Frozen Yogi in America, we looked at a lot of old towns in the area, including Wi******er. We remember going to check it out and getting a parking ticket almost immediately, which honestly felt like a bad omen.

We weren't around back when Old Town Warrenton was nearly a ghost town in the eighties, so we know parking here was probably even easier at some point than it is now. But even so, we haven't found another historical old town in the area with multiple FREE municipal parking lots the way Warrenton has. Yes, it takes a little walking, but old towns are made to be strolled, and with the new sidewalk work done, it's honestly even more enjoyable now. Plus, we've got our own lot right behind our store, so while you can't quite drive straight into our kitchen, getting here really isn't the hassle people expect.

Compared to everywhere else we looked, parking and traffic in Old Town Warrenton have genuinely surprised us, in a good way! It's so chill, just like us :)

To everyone who’s been showing up, working hard, and carrying a lot this year, we see you. The early mornings, the long days, the moments you pushed through when it would’ve been easier to stop. None of that goes unnoticed.

This year has asked a lot of people. If you’re tired, if you’ve been running on empty, if today is the first real breath you’ve taken in a while, we hope you feel it. You matter, and so does the work you do, even when no one’s watching.

We’re here in Old Town Warrenton, across from the courthouse, and today we just want to say thank you. Rest well. You’ve earned it. 💛

Surprise Five: The Grandparent Game In This Town Is Strong

Grandparents of Old Town Warrenton, where are you taking your grandkids after school pickup and on the weekends? To Frozen Yogi, of course, they won’t be sad about it.

Two years in, one of our favorite surprises has been just how strong the grandparent game is here. Every afternoon, every weekend, grandparents are showing up with their grandkids for a treat, and honestly, it might be our favorite part of the day. Pictured here are some supreme grandmas, Rob’s grandma and Sue’s mom!

Two years in Old Town Warrenton, and the surprises keep coming! Here's Surprise Four in our countdown to our anniversary this Labor Day weekend.

Surprise Four: How Many Plant Lovers Call This Town Home!!!

We didn't expect just how many plant lovers there are here in Old Town Warrenton, and it's actually how we ended up building such a great relationship with Lost Woods. Back when we first opened, they asked if they could host a plant swap here, and it's been clear ever since just how much people love it and love their plants. Since then, we've hosted everything from plant swaps to terrarium making to plant bingo, and every single time, this community shows up for it. Lost Woods has brought so much plant life and community into this town, and we love having them here!

And the timing could not be better, because Lost Woods will be right here with us tonight for First Friday in the Hounds Hall! Come by, meet them, and see what all the plant love is about.

Two years in Old Town Warrenton, and the surprises keep coming! Here's Surprise Three in our countdown to our anniversary this Labor Day weekend.

Surprise Three: The Genuine Kindness Of This Community Has Stayed With Us!

One thing that has really taken us aback as we've hit two years here is that people in Warrenton don't just have politeness, they have a real, genuine kindness and compassion. There's a thoughtfulness to it that isn't surface level, it's real. People here also seem to have time in a way that busier areas nearby just don't, time to stop, ask how you're doing, and actually mean it, time to care about this community and the people in it. No one is too busy to be kind here.

That became especially clear to us during the road construction this summer. It was a genuinely discouraging stretch, one where we sometimes felt treated more like a subject than a partner by the local government. But what carried us through it was this community rallying around us, understanding what we were going through, and showing up anyway.

Two years in, we are so incredibly grateful for the compassion shown to us and to small businesses throughout Old Town during that time, and we will never forget it. That's what makes being here, in Old Town Warrenton, feel different. Anyone else feeling this?

Surprise Two: This Town Loves A Good Parade On Main Street!!

We didn't realize just how much Old Town Warrenton loves a parade until we opened our doors. From the Christmas parade to the Kids and Dogs Parade to Halloween, this town shows up in full force every single time, and we're always so happy to be right here to serve everyone during them (and forgetting to film all the fun!!)

Warrenton peeps!! This time two years ago, it was right before Labor Day weekend, and our team was working nonstop to get our frozen yogurt shop ready to open right here on Main Street in Old Town Warrenton, Virginia. Now, here we are, two amazing years later, and we can't quite believe it!!

To celebrate two years serving the Old Town Warrenton and Fauquier County community, we're counting down our top ten surprises about opening a small business here. It's been a journey for sure!

So....Surprise One: Plain Tart Isn't Our Highest In Demand Flavor

Plain tart was always our number one flavor back in Bali, so we actually expected it to be the runaway favorite here too. Instead, Warrenton locals gravitated toward vanilla, so much so that we had to move plain tart off our main lineup and behind the counter, into the spot we'd originally reserved for specialty flavors. Are you part of the Plain Tart Club?
