Masks will be required on the farm if you're out of your car or in the barn. Masks are not required while you are on a horse riding.
Thanks for understanding and adhering to this policy! It helps keep us riding 🏇

White Oak Stables is a 6 acre private family farm located in Warrenton, Virginia the heart of horse country. We specialize in adult beginners and shy/fearful/anxious riders. The farm is conveniently located only 5 minutes from the center of town and the Warrenton Horse Show Grounds. You’ll enjoy scenic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains on your drive over. We’re only minutes from the Rappahannock River, Gray Ghost Vineyards and only 20 minutes from the acclaimed 5 star Inn at Little Washington, Skyline Drive and Luray Caverns. We pride ourself in being a laid back, family friendly barn that emphasizes safety and correct, foundational riding. While we do take students to compete at shows and competitions our aim is to teach to your personal goals, wants and needs.
Greta “Jade” Krafsig
Hello, I’m the owner and head instructor at White Oak Stables. I’ve loved horses my whole life but I didn’t start riding until I was 14 and I’ve been hooked ever since. I’ve trained in classical Hunt Seat and Equitation most of my life by a wonderfully talented and local instructor, Sandi Diesterhoft. I’ve competed successfully in local hunter/jumper shows, western pleasure shows, hunter paces and eventing. I enjoy working with people of all ages, especially adult beginners, autistic and shy/anxious/fearful riders. I believe learning about horses should be safe, fun and educational.
Sandy Ann Charles
Hi! I teach 1-2 days a week at White Oak Stables, usually on the weekends. I started riding when I was 2 and by the time I was 7 I was competing in pony hunter divisions. I started Pony Club when I was 8 or 9 with Casanova Warrenton Pony Club. I have done almost everything from Pony Club games to three day eventing. I started teaching and assisting with lessons at my family’s lesson stables when I was 12. I have been teaching professionally since I was 17. I have trained with my mom, Sandi Deisterhoft, as well as Pam Baker, Gavin Moylan, Jimmy Cantwell, Gigi Winslet and Pam Fraley. I’ve participated in clinics with George Morris and Katie Monahan Prudent. I was Grand Champion Local Hunter at the Washington International Horse Show in 2003.
Diamond Appeal “Erin”
Erin is a 1999 Thoroughbred mare. Not only is she a sweetheart she has loads of personality. She was bred for steeple chasing but was never raced. She enjoys carrots, peppermints, and lots of slobbery kisses. Erin lost an eye due to health problems and as a result she doesn’t jump much anymore. Erin does English or Western lessons.
How Bout Them Sox “Abbott”
Abbott is a 2005 Quarter Horse/Paint gelding. This friendly guy was bred for western pleasure competitions and has a wonderfully smooth gait, a comfy jump and is an easy horse to ride even if he can be stubborn. Abbott loves carrots, peppermints and drinking out of the hose on a hot day. He’s so smart he even knows how to unlock stall doors. Abbott does English or Western lessons.
Imagine That “Emma”
Emma is a 1999 Irish Sport Horse mare. She’s the newest addition to our farm and our most advanced horse to ride due to her huge, fast stride and bouncy trot. She is clearly everyone’s favorite horse at the barn. She’s a wonderfully talented jumper and a super sweetheart who is nearly push button in beginner lessons. Emma mainly does English lessons.

Really excited about visiting the farm! Thank you!
The grin says it's all. Thanks Jade for another great lesson.
My Girl Scout Troop had an AMAZING time earring their Junior Horseback Riding Badge tonight!!!! The horses were so calm and easy to work with that even my most nervous girls who've never seen a horse felt at ease. The scenery is gorgeous and has made this an incredible experience for them. Most are dying/begging/pleading to go back!!!!
Amazing time- thank you so very much! My children had the MOST AMAZING time and we will definitely continue with the lessons:)
