This little boy bottle fed this ewe when he was two. Now he is four, he and “Gracie” are still friends. She’s part of the sheep training group for our young Border Collie “Jock” so Gracie gets extra attention these days.

A year ago we started looking for a stud to breed our trusty Border Collie, Pip to. We found Ronnie in Tennessee and bred Pip last March. In May, “Jock” joined the crew and spent the summer and fall learning about the farm alongside his mother. This week, Jock began Sheepdog School with a few “Intro to Sheep” classes.
Jock and I (Chris) are total novices but we’ll be learning together this year with high hopes to put the “boss” and his dog out of of a job😉

Maple honey marshmallows for cocoa this winter!! Our #1 honey badger for 2025, shared this recipe with us!
Let 3T of beef gelatin bloom in 1/2 cup of water for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, bring 1/2 cup of maple syrup and 1/2 cup of honey and 1/2 cup of water almost to a full boil. Add the gelatin mixture and combine everything. Whip with beaters until everything is frothy and fluffy! Pour into a 9 x 9 dish and let sit in the refrigerator for a few hours. Cut into cubes and enjoy!..I mean…really enjoy!!!!

What to do with all that honey?🤔🍯
Project 1: Layer slices of fresh lemon and ginger in a jar and drizzle raw fall honey over it. Let it marry together in the fridge for at least 24 hours and then enjoy! We use spoonfuls in berry smoothies, hot tea or just straight up.
Project 2: Honey gummy bears! 1/2 cup grape juice, juice from 1 lemon, 3 T gelatin, 1/2 cup honey. Warm in a saucepan until the gelatin dissolves and pipe into molds. 10/10 with my boys!

Riding out the final days of what feels like summer with fall lambing season.
We’ll continue to have fresh-cut flowers at the stand until we get a hard frost to close the gardens down. Also at the stand will be strawberry field tomatoes and butternut squash, honey and beeswax lip balm.

It takes a village to keep a fresh-cut flower stand in business. Thank you to our little community in Tyrone, Warriors Mark and Spruce Creek for keep us going for a third summer!
It is so enjoyable to hear who bouquets are being gifted to and to peak at who is stopping by to buy them. We’ve had folks pull up on 4-wheelers and golf carts to buy flowers. Landscapers hauling a trailer load of supplies have stop by. The majority of our customers have been men buying bouquets for their wives, daughters, mothers and neighbors. A little on-farm road-side flower stand is helping make pretty little bouquets accessible to shoppers who might not have otherwise been likely to give the gift of beauty to a loved one.
Mothers buying flowers for their mothers, mothers gifting flowers to daughters, friends gifting flowers to friends for all sorts of occasions, some happy and some sad.
It is an honor and privilege to be a small part of the gift-giving experience.
Thank you to our tiny community for keeping us going! It NEVER GETS OLD to arrange another bouquet!

Hi there! We’re Dustin and Chris! We raise beef cattle (among other things🤪)
Our mother cows calve out on pasture in May/June and right before Christmas, we wean their calves. These calves continue to grow until the following fall when they head to the local butcher. (Career change.) By Thanksgiving, they’re tucked away in the freezers of families in our community. Check out our website for more details😉 tiswellfarm.us
