❄️🐮 Day 11: No matter the weather - the brutal sun or the brisk winters - farmers are always out tending to their cattle to make sure they’re comfortable and happy, because happy cows make good quality milk. Thanks to Conrad Family Farms for this beautiful winter farm scene!

One of the biggest fears a farmer keeps in the back of their minds is a fire during harvest season, or any season for that matter.

That fear became reality today as Sammy was just moving along combining today.

The morning started out smoothly; our youngest farmer even got to drive the combine for the first time today at only the age of six! But that morning faded around 4 pm when Sammy noticed the smoke rolling behind him was not normal. He acted quickly and was able to unload the grain bin, swing the auger in, and move the dump truck out of the way.

We are so thankful he is safe (he didn’t have his passenger at this time)! - He also lives up to his title of “Man, Myth, Legend” for going back for his drink & phone stand after it was all cleared.

Thank you to our friends, employees, and neighbors that we consider family for showing up and stepping in before the fire department got there. Thank you to the fire departments for extinguishing the flames and making sure everything was deemed clear & safe.
