Bountiful summer harvest are rolling in!!

Who wants sweet corn for the weekend? One of our big blocks is in and plenty of sweet corn will be available this weekend! Plus it’s a deal if you get a dozen. If you would like 5 dozen or more, please message us. There will be a 50% deposit when you place the order for 5 dozen or more. You can also get bulk from us the day of too but booking it, guarantees you get it. 🙂🙂

P.S. this is all white sweet corn in this block.

Have you been waiting on sweet corn? Well, it will be there this weekend for you. This is the first pulled out of this block and it is sweet as can be! Also, if you want something to light up your taste buds those long peppers in the pictures below are the real deal.

Long days in the field equals late post but I just wanted to let everyone know we will be at markets this weekend. There is some concern about air quality for Saturday but by tomorrow it should be better. This week has been rough with the heat and smoke on us but we still have a great selection this week. So, come grab some of these great vegetables and check out all our hard work. See y’all tomorrow.

Did you know onions have to be cured and dried? The process takes a little over a week once harvested. They have to be placed in the curing room so the onion tops cover the onions during this process. This takes excess moisture out of the onion and closes the top of the actual onion from outside moisture to prevent damage and rotting. Onions are a neat crop to grow but curing is a must for storage. Also, some varieties store better than others.

The first picture is how they come out of the field and the second picture is how they look once the process is complete.

What’s your favorite 4th of July veggie? My personal favorite of those pictured is sweet corn!!

This week we will have;

Tomatoes
Green tomatoes
Salad tomatoes
Sweet corn
String beans
Peppers
Cucumbers
Pickling cucumbers
Squash
Zucchini
Onions
Potatoes
Cabbage
Peaches
And possibly a few other things but we will have to check on them this evening.

Little side note; as we are navigating these extreme temps, we will do our best to try to make your shopping with us quick as possible at markets this weekend so you can get back in the AC. We as farmers deal with these temps all the time but this week is one for the books. Hopefully by Sunday it will cool down some.

We wish everyone a happy and safe 4th! Drink plenty of water and Gatorade!

It’s almost Father’s Day!! Come see us for some fabulous veggies that will be great for your cook out this weekend. We will be glad to offer advice on grilling, butter will be required though. 🙂🙂
