February 28, 2026.
In true Jolene style, she was on her own timeline and insisted on doing it her way. Only 14 days late, she allowed us to meet this special c**t, right on time. He is perfect, and we are enjoying this confident, affectionate, and old soul immensely already. He has been well worth the wait.
We are smitten, and excited about this new chapter.

Summer 2025.
Jolene headed to summer camp for the season, where she got to focus on just being a horse and growing a healthy foal. No riding, no stalls. She was blessed to be surrounded by wonderful people, endless grass, plenty of woods to protect her from the elements. During this time, it was time to switch her nutrition to a development diet that would provide the best nutrition for her and her growing foal during this stage of development. Blue Bonnet Intensify Growth & Development was the perfect choice for Jolene, as well as her bestie, the yearling, Denim, who kept her company for the season. She was blessed to call this beautiful hollow her home during this stage of rest and relaxation.

May 13, 2025.
The last time we get to see the foal before birth in February 2026.
This is Jolene’s 60 day ultrasound. This imaging is critical for assuring that we do not have twins on board, and that we have a live embryo in our geriatric broodmare. Jolene has officially passed the most critical stage of breeding, and we are officially on to the waiting game. Now comes quality care, excellent nutrition, and the rest is up to our girl.

April 13, 2025.
Jolene’s pregnancy is confirmed viable with a heartbeat check via ultrasound. Enjoy this fantastic imaging of heart chamber development. Reaching this 30 day milestone was a big win for us with an older mare. We are ecstatic to be on this journey, and blessed to have extraordinary care we can trust.

Spring is finally on the way in central Ohio!! We are enjoying the sunshine, and day dreaming of this time next year.
We are breeding our matriarch this week, Jolene. Jolene is our 17yr old Quarter Horse, purchased in 2023 as the initial investment for our program. We can’t wait to share our journey with our loved ones.

Jolene, you have some explaining to do!

Back in late fall, we invested in an mask for Jolene. This essentially tricks her hormones into thinking it’s spring right now in central Ohio. The blue light spectrum shining on her retina allows her body to tell her reproductive tract the sun has been shining a lot more than in reality. This allowed for the best quality of life possible for Jo all winter. She got to live outside, with the babies, which is her happy place. The mask allows her to not have to live inside under lights, to prepare her for late winter breeding…this becomes important later. We enjoyed playing Equilume model all winter.
