Too bad cleaning the field up wasn’t actually that easy! The weather this May has been very cold and wet. I’ve been reluctant to put a lot of things in the ground, but it appears there is a dry spell in our forecast! While everyone is out making hay around me, I am planting dahlias.

There’s a surprise out in the pasture for me….

And now we plant….. the warm weather in April followed by the cool frosty weather in May has thrown the farm for a loop....

And now we plant….. the warm weather in April followed by the cool frosty weather in May has thrown the farm for a loop. Cool season crops went to sleep before they bloomed. Warm season crops are hunkering down in the cold. Not a bloom in sight, yet.

I will keep you updated of when blooms are back. Keep following along for all our farm progress!

I will have almost 70 bouquets at the market tomorrow, it’s more than I ever have brought before! Making them this evening I was thinking of all the joy they will spread this weekend. Come and pick out something special for the mothers in your life.
Farm friend Tia will be holding down the booth while me and the kids head to a special event at the Cathedral in Columbus. Sales start at 8:30, come early and grab yours!

The tulips are beautiful this year, but they’ve been hiding away for a few weeks. Every year has its own unique challenges. This year it was unseasonably warm temperatures that pushed the tulips to bloom quickly. Luckily I was able to manage and get them harvested at the right stage. They have been patiently sitting in the cooler and I am excited to bring them out for you at the Farmers Market this Saturday May 2nd!

I’ve been so grateful for everyone who has shown up for these early tulip sales. It has meant more than I can say!
