My absolute favorite thing is officially here…
yes, it’s the beginning of flower season 🤍

I don’t know what else brings a smile to my face quite the way flowers do. There’s just something about them. Simple, joyful , and somehow exactly what we need after a long, cold winter.

And these fancy narcissus hold such a special place in my heart.
Delicate, a little wild, and the first quiet reminder that brighter days are coming.

Maybe it’s just me, but this time of year always feels like an invitation…
to slow down a bit, open the windows, set something beautiful on the table, even if it’s just for you.

I’ll be bringing a couple of the very first bouquets to Warwick Indoor Farm Market tomorrow, along with fresh sourdough (because flowers + bread just feel like the kind of pairing we all deserve this time of year)

If you’ve been craving a little brightness, I’ve got you.

If you missed out on preordering your sourdough Easter bunny, don’t worry, I saved a few for last-minute magic. 🐰
They’re waiting over at Shannon's Eyes on the Pies… at least for now.

They make the sweetest little Easter centerpiece… cute enough to admire, but meant to be shared.

Are you ready for bunny time? 🐰

Bringing these little guys back for Easter this year because honestly… they’re just too fun not to.

There’s something about a bunny-shaped loaf sitting on the table that makes everything feel a little more special

(slightly too cute. still getting eaten.)

If you want one for your weekend, the Easter menu is up on Hotplate

(link in comments & bio)

I’ll also have the usual cozy lineup... loaves, flavored options, scones, and cinnamon rolls.

Pre-orders are open now.

Saturday porch pickup, just in time for all the spring weekend moments.

Today’s favorites…

My favorite loaf design of the day.
One of my favorite loaves to eat (yes… this one’s staying with me).
And my absolute favorite kind of weather.

The kind that makes you step outside for “just a minute” and suddenly you’re wandering the yard noticing all the tiny signs that spring is waking up.

The earliest narcissus are starting to peek through the soil, and the snowdrops are dancing around in the breeze like they know something we don’t yet.

March always does this… little hints that the beautiful fancy blooms aren’t too far behind.

For now I’m just soaking up the sunshine and enjoying a slice of this seeded loaf.

Hope you’re getting a moment to enjoy this gorgeous day too.

Today’s the day… time to wake up the ranunculus and anemones.

It’s always wild to me that these little octopus-looking corms turn into the flowers you see in these photos. After winter it's also wild to me that bright colors even exist, but that's another story.

First step: a 4 hour soak to rehydrate them. After that, they’ll go into shallow trays of soil in my cool, dark basement (their favorite place to sprout).

Once they wake up, I’ll grow them indoors for a couple of weeks to give them a head start before they head outside to the low tunnel.

Flower magic is officially underway. 🌸

A little glimpse of the winter themed loaves that were ordered for pick up today. These designs definitely take more time than the usual ones I do, but it's fun to have them this time of year.

If you're looking for some sourdough bread today you can head over to Shannon's Eyes on the Pies. I have a few of the winter themed and a few seeded available there, as well.

The last of the dahlias have been dug and tucked into their winter bed… paper bags, actually. (We like pillows and blankets; dahlias prefer paper bags and pine shavings.)

They’ll rest there till spring, but I’ll still check on them each month to make sure they’re not drying out or starting to rot. Even in hibernation, dahlias are a little high maintenance.

Meanwhile in the kitchen, I’ve been perfecting a new loaf: Maple & Pecan. It’s not too sweet, just a hint of maple, and packed with toasty pecans. I’m finally happy with it, so you’ll see it joining the sourdough lineup soon!
