Happy 10th anniversary to my forever pairing, my CTO, and favorite person to share a bottle with. 🥂

W**e has always been part of my world, so naturally, it had a place in our wedding—from the w**e and cheese station I created for our venue with Masterpiece Caterers, to the bottle we opened to celebrate ten years together.

We marked the occasion at Delmonico's Steakhouse, where we also held our rehearsal dinner. The Bordeaux was from Château Gloria from Saint-Julien, on Bordeaux’s Left Bank. Made primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon blended with Merlot, Cab Franc and Petit Verdot, it’s known for its concentrated dark fruit, firm tannins, and structure—a classic, age-worthy style that felt fitting for the occasion.

Ten years of good food, good w**e, and good times. Here’s to the next celebration! 🍷

When the weather changes, the plan adapts. 🤍

A rainy wedding day at Mountain Lake Park didn't change what mattered most: giving S&B the space to be fully present and enjoy it all.

They had poured so much of themselves into the details, with many elements of the day being DIY. My role was to take those details—and the unexpected moments—off their shoulders so they could simply be in the moment.

And they did. From a rainy ceremony overlooking the lake to a packed dance floor, the day was completely theirs.

The best work is often the part your guests never see.

Birthday celebrations are better with Ch*****ne. 🥂

Pommery Ch*****ne, a little charcuterie, party hats, and good friends made for a pretty perfect way to celebrate another year.

The Brut Noir felt a little more developed and full-bodied, with a lovely richness that made it especially good alongside the food—a reminder that Ch*****ne can be just as wonderful with a meal as it is for a toast.

Most of all, birthdays are a chance to appreciate the people who make the journey so much more fun.

An impromptu Labor Day tasting turned into a little Sauvignon Blanc lesson.

We tasted three expressions side by side: Côte d’Argent from France, St. Supéry from Napa Valley, and La Moussière Sancerre by Alphonse Mellot—and used them to explore balance, structure, body, and how much a region can influence the way the same grape tastes.

The Sancerre was the showstopper. Its bright acidity, beautiful balance, structure and full body gave it rounded freshness without feeling light or simple.

And this is one of the things I love teaching about w**e: you don’t have to know everything about a bottle to make a good choice. Start with a grape you know you enjoy, then pay attention to the region and the style. From there, think about what you like in a w**e—more acidity? More body? More structure?—and let that guide your next bottle.

Sometimes knowing what you like is more useful than knowing everything about w**e. Cheers! 🥂

A wedding day is made up of a thousand little details—but what matters most is how it all feels.

I had the joy of planning and coordinating this beautiful celebration weekend at Mountain Lake Park. From the welcome dinner, ceremony overlooking the lake and thoughtful floral details to the dinner and eventually a very full dance floor, every part of the day reflected S&Z.

They were such a thoughtful, organized, and wonderful couple to work with, and it was a delight to help bring their vision to life.

Congratulations, S&Z! It was truly a pleasure being part of your celebrations.

One of my favorite places to start when pairing w**e and cheese is with a sense of place. 🍷🧀

Rioja and Manchego are a classic Spanish combination and a great reminder that pairing doesn’t always have to be complicated. When you’re unsure where to begin, look at the foods and w**es that have evolved alongside one another.

What grows together, goes together. 🇪🇸

It’s not a hard-and-fast rule, but it’s one of my favorite starting points—and often leads to some pretty delicious discoveries.

Some bottles become more than just w**e—they become part of your story. 🥂☀️

This bottle of Gloria Ferrer W**ery Sonoma Brut joined us for an evening of paddleboarding to celebrate a friend’s birthday, but it also brought back memories of my first years in California. Gloria Ferrer was the very first w**ery I visited after moving there in 2014, and joining the w**e club meant many afternoons on my apartment patio celebrating life’s big milestones—and the little ones, too.

A little w**e fact: Founded by the Ferrer family of Spain, Gloria Ferrer helped establish Carneros as one of California’s premier regions for traditional method sparkling w**e.

Some w**es become favorites because they’re exceptional. Others become favorites because of the memories they hold. This one will always be a little bit of both. ✨🍾
