The pasture grass is looking very lush and healthy. We are seeing many diverse grasses popping up in the pasture which we attribute to the cows daily moves through the pasture (intensive rotational grazing) and the result of the chickens’ daily moves through the pasture. The rain also helps a ton!
This spring we are seeing tons of different species of birds and wildlife (like turtles, snakes, butterflies etc!). We are still learning all of the different types of birds we’ve been seeing, but some of our favorites are the cardinals, bald eagles, killdeer, owls, and swallows (swallows because they help with fly control!) 🦅
We have never sprayed any sort of chemicals or fertilizers on our pastures, and as a result of this we see more and more new life each spring. This is the beauty of regenerative farming. It is amazing to see the whole system in action and it always reminds us of our goal: keep it simple and do not interfere with the way things were so beautifully designed to work. 🐄🐷🐓
