Why we love our pasture raised chicken! 🐓 ☀️

A look into the pastured poultry operation on our farm.

What started as a move out of the city became our family’s full time job, running a grass based livestock operation. 🌱🐓🐄🐖🥚☀️

We never could have imagined the amount of work and grit and commitment it would take to run this business, but it has been worth it to our family.

The days are long and hard. It’s not easy, it’s not glamorous. In fact it’s extremely difficult and challenging. But working hard everyday for something you believe in makes it worth it!

We love seeing all the new and familiar faces at the farmers markets on Saturdays!

As a reminder, we are at two markets every Saturday:

-Downtown Bentonville from 7:30-1pm (we’re across from The Hive)
-Downtown Rogers Farmers Market from 8-1pm

As always all of our products (chicken, pork, eggs and beef) are raised on our farm. All animals are rotated on pasture, in moveable floorless structures. The cows are grass only (no grain, ever).

No chemicals, no fertilizers on the pasture, no antibiotics, no barns/confinement, no GMOs, no shortcuts.☀️🌱

Can’t wait to see you soon! 🍗🥓🥚🥩

And just like that it’s turkey time! Baby Turkeys add a nice new face in the middle of the chicken season for us and a welcomed change in poultry personality!

That doesn’t change our process for raising birds though! A few short weeks in the brooder, then out to pasture!

It never gets old seeing our pasture raised pork, chicken and eggs on the shelves at Akins. Raised only 30 minutes away from Akin's Natural Foods our animals are always on pasture, always rotated, and always free of chemicals and shots.

How awesome to have a local grocery store that both supports local farmers and offers products that are truly raised in the healthiest way on pasture!

You hear the phrase “regenerative farming” thrown around a lot today. It’s currently a blanket term that can have a lot of different meanings. And just like every trendy phrase that comes up, it can be overused to compensate for the practices that may or may not be happening on a farm.

For us, this term means what this video shows. The cows being moved for their daily moved and headed to their fresh pasture for the evening. In the background you see the meat chickens that have already been moved today and the layers that are in mobile coops and never in the same spot for more than a week.

Three different animal groups, always moving and always working together to improve our farm daily.

Healthy animals. Healthy farm. Healthy products. This is what regenerative farming means to us!

Hot hot hot! These temperatures can be very dangerous for the chickens. We’ll be busy these next few days keeping them comfortable!

Looks like rain tonight BUT market will be indoors so you can still shop your favorite vendors! Mt Hebron Park 4-7:30pm. Mt Hebron Park is at 6174 Mt Hebron Rd, Rogers. We see inside the Prairie View Center!

We can’t start the day without first taking care of our animals! Part of the morning chores include feeding the hens and their protector, our LGD “Little Buddy.”

Along with moving our pasture raised meat chickens every single day, our pasture raised hens are moved once a week to fresh pasture to ensure they are always on fresh pasture and not stagnant on the same piece of ground.

The result? Healthy and happy hens that lay delicious, nutrient dense eggs!

We’re starting today off like we do every day: moving meat chickens to fresh pasture. 🐓🌱

We don’t take shortcuts on Bulmanski Farms, and for meat chickens, that means DAILY MOVES!

It’s great for the chickens, it’s great for the pasture, and it’s great for the end consumer!
