Wο»Ώant to learn about composting? Looking for a place in Ward 8 to drop off your food scraps? Come to the Community Compost Co-op at THEARC Farm!
Participants will learn about the basics of composting, the do's and don'ts, and how to start a small compost pile from home.
Feel free to bring your food scraps with you to learn how to compost them.

At the Salt Scrub Spa participants will learn how to create their very own salt scrubs using essential oils and herbs. They will learn about how certain salts aid in healing our bodies internally and externally. They will also learn about the history of essential oils and how to use them to bring about a state of homeostasis for the mind, body and spirit. Entry fee is $5 to cover the cost of materials. It’s sunchoke o’clock at the farm! Sunchoke, also known as Jerusalem Artichoke is a root vegetable. Sunchokes have a mild, sweet, and crunchy, with a nutty taste similar to water chestnuts, hazelnuts, and jicama. Sunchokes are a great source of iron, calcium, magnesium, and potassium. They're also low-calorie, fiber-rich, and contain the carbohydrate inulin, which helps to keep blood and glucose levels stable!

On the second practice day before the re-opens for in-person learning, our friends from Living Classrooms Foundation taught our scholars a garden science lesson outside at Thearc Farm. For the rest of the spring, our 3rd-5th students will have an outdoor lesson with Living Classrooms every Friday.
