Would You Eat Meatloaf with Onion Gravy 🥩🧅
Hearty and flavorful!
Ingredients:
For the meatloaf:
500 g (1 lb) ground beef
250 g (1/2 lb) ground pork
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/3 cup milk
1 egg
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
For the onion gravy:
2 tablespoons butter
2 large onions, thinly sliced
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups beef stock
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley for garnish
Directions:
Prepare the meatloaf: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
Transfer the mixture to a greased loaf pan and shape into a loaf. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C). Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
Make the onion gravy: While the meatloaf is baking, melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onions and cook, stirring frequently, until golden and caramelized, about 10-12 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for another minute.
Sprinkle the flour over the onions and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly. Gradually pour in the beef stock while stirring to prevent lumps. Add Worcestershire sauce and cook until the gravy thickens. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve: Slice the meatloaf and serve with the onion gravy poured generously over the top. Garnish with fresh parsley.

4 large potatoes, peeled and quartered
4 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup milk or cream
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

Prep the Ribeye: Season the ribeye steak with salt and pepper on both sides. Set aside.
Caramelize the Onions: Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-low heat. Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until soft and golden brown, about 15-20 minutes. Add minced garlic and thyme, cooking for an additional 2 minutes. Set aside.
Cook the Steak: In another skillet, heat the remaining tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear the ribeye steak for 3-5 minutes per side, depending on desired doneness. Remove from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes.
Prepare the Mashed Potatoes: While the steak is resting, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the potatoes and cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and mash, then stir in butter and milk until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper.

Ingredients:

1 lb white fish fillets (cod or haddock)

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 cup cold sparkling water

Salt and black pepper to taste

1 teaspoon paprika

4 large potatoes, peeled and cut into thick fries

Vegetable oil for frying

Optional: lemon wedges, tartar sauce, malt vinegar

Directions:

Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).

Soak cut potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes, then drain and pat dry.

Fry potatoes in batches for 4–5 minutes until lightly golden. Remove and set aside.

In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, salt, pepper, and paprika.

Slowly add cold sparkling water, mixing until a smooth batter forms.

Pat fish fillets dry and season lightly with salt.

Dip fish into batter, letting excess drip off, then carefully place into hot oil.

4 hoagie rolls

6 slices provolone cheese

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced

1 onion, thinly sliced

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon paprika

Salt and black pepper to taste

Optional: mushrooms, mayonnaise, hot sauce

Directions:

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add sliced chicken to the skillet and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.

Cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring frequently, until the chicken is cooked through and lightly browned.

Add sliced onions and bell peppers to the skillet and sauté for 3–4 minutes until softened.

If using mushrooms, add them now and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

Reduce heat to low, place provolone slices over the chicken mixture, and cover until the cheese melts.

4 burger buns

4 slices cheddar cheese

4 slices mozzarella cheese

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1 tomato, sliced

1 red onion, sliced

Lettuce leaves

2 tablespoons butter (for buns)

Optional: pickles, burger sauce, ketchup, mustard

Directions:

Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and gently shape into patties.

Season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.

Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat and add olive oil.

Cook the patties for 3–4 minutes per side, or until desired doneness.

During the last minute of cooking, top each patty with cheddar and mozzarella slices and cover to melt.

Ingredients:

2 cups heavy cream

1 cup whole milk

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

4 oz dark chocolate, finely chopped

4 large egg yolks

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

Directions:

In a medium saucepan, whisk together milk, cream, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt over medium heat.

Heat the mixture until warm and steaming, but do not boil.

Add the chopped dark chocolate and stir until fully melted and smooth.

In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks until pale.

Slowly pour a small amount of the warm chocolate mixture into the egg yolks, whisking constantly to temper them.

Return the tempered yolks to the saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the custard thickens slightly and coats the back of a spoon.

Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
