The venture of this project for me is to help educate to the best of my ability, continually learn more about wines in the process, and create a space that allows people to have a more informed idea while searching for quality product in any fine wine/spirits store. Often we are overwhelmed by how many choices there are in our local supermarket

s or even dedicated Beer, Wine, or Spirit stores. "Elevate Your Tastes" will strive to help you narrow down the choices so that your shopping experience is enjoyable each and every time.

Nothing like Cab Franc for Wine Wednesday!

2018 Saumur Les Moulins is still tasting quite nice. Tart Red cherry, red plum, black pepper, forest floor, and mushrooms are prominent on the palate. I had this somewhat chilled prior to serving and it allowed the heat from the alcohol to not pull my focus from the complexity. Not super high alcohol, sitting at 13.5%, but it was a worthy decision because the wine is fantastic! I don’t have enough Cab Franc in my repertoire but I must change that.

FUN FACT: Cabernet Franc is one of the parent grapes of Cabernet Sauvignon. [Cabernet Sauvignon is a crossing of Cab Franc and Sauvignon Blanc, making: Cabernet Sauvignon!]

Happy Women’s History Month!

Enjoying some Emeritus Pinot Noir, led by President - Mari Jones, who’s the daughter of Brice Cutrer-Jones who founded the vineyard in 1999. Most notably, Emeritus comes from Sonoma County in a special area within Russian River Valley; home to Hallberg Ranch & Sonoma Coast’s Pinot Hill. Hallberg Ranch is where their estate fruit comes from with the Goldridge soils (which are super ideal to growing Pinot Noir.)

This Pinot Noir is radiating in my glass with notes of tart cherries, raspberries, black cherries, plum, and delicate notes of vanilla and clove. The body is medium and aromas are consistent with the nose and the acidity is medium. Lovely finish and wonderful complexity. Opulent and elegant. Not super high alcohol which is excellent.

This 6 years of age is showing beautifully too!
