I tend to over-water, so I got into aquatic plants Long story short, I love plants; they helped me through a lot. But I did over water a bunch of them, simply because I loved watering them. Then one day I saw this beautiful aquarium on my phone, so I tried. First time, I got a 3g acrilyc aquarium with a built in filter and light. I went to the pet shop and got 2 plants, anubias nana petite and some java fern. After doing more research, I realized that my built in light wasn't gonna work to grow plants. So I went on FB marketplace, I found a 6.6g glass rimless aquarium and a Led light for planted aquariums. The tank also came with a separate filter and filter medias. It was the first time I saw growth on an aquatic plant, and I was in love.

My parents got this night blooming cereus over 10 years ago. Tonight it finally bloomed Well technically it bloomed for the first time a few nights ago while they were out of town- the flowers only stay open for one night then die, and my mom was devastated to see she'd missed it. Thankfully the plant was kind enough to save one bud 😍

Partner called my plants garbage My partner travels 100 % and is gone for months at a time. He only rarely comes home for a weekend or a week once in a blue moon. Since it’s Labor Day weekend he has a few days off and decided to come home. He was trying to set something up with our tv and said that things would be easier if I didn’t have “all this garbage”.

I’m pretty upset and this is the only room in the house that gets any light since his mom had to move in with us and I lost my nursery/ office space. Personally I love my plants and this space makes me so happy and I feel like I’ve come a long way with my plant care. Stupid question but does it look like garbage? I have cats so my options for putting them anywhere else with grow lights is pretty nonexistent.

They told me to never let lettuce bloom. I broke that rule. Let a lettuce bloom, and its scattered seeds return the most beautifull and loveliest of all in the middle of the floor.

The pineapple I bought from the store, planted, and has become the sweetest treat in the end. Well it’s been an awesome ride since Oct 12, 2023 when I planted Apple of Pine. Surviving aphids, high winds, patio life, and more aphids, I have officially produced 1 pineapple worth about $4.00 here.

When we came home one evening and found the stalk complete split, I thought the fruit was done for. But leaving it outside on the table for a couple days helped ripen it right up. Absolutely delicious and juicy. Proud is an understatement.

But went ahead and replanted the crown to see if the Apple of Pine legacy will continue. Next time I’ll be sure to weigh it, because this one was a large.

Update: The pineapple I ate from the store, planted, and has continued to become my proudest achievement. It’s gotten so huge since my last post, almost two months ago, totally might be premature by a week or more. But Apple of Pine is becoming so full and now I’m just waiting on a yellow color to come on. When I stick my nose to it, I can’t smell anything too distinctive but I’m patiently waiting for the smell to come bursting through. We’re getting more and more and sunlight on the patio so I’m still watering, Apple of Pine, everyday lightly and adding a miracle grow water booster stick everything second week.

Just had to add more dirt to its side to keep it from bending over too much. In the meantime, I do have 6 cherry tomatoes 🍅 fruiting, a basil or Hawaii shrimp plant coming up, and just planted some habaneros from seeds I harvested from one we used. It’s like too easy. I wish you and your plants the luck I’ve had

Wife just brought her babies inside for the fall. She desires feedback. So my wife brought her plants indoors and we have a new lighter paint to reflect the light more (original was dark gray). This is her third year of taking the hobby seriously. It all started with a little rubber tree I bought off Amazon and she caught the bug. I do minimal care. It’s all her. Thoughts or constructive criticism would be appreciated.
