We are currently closed for winter at the garden center, but landscaping and garden design services are still available! We are an urban garden center/ farm located in Brookland in Washington D.C. Since our grand opening in March of 2009, we've been called the "Green Beating Heart" of the city. We supply everything from annuals, perennials, trees, and shrubs, to mulch, compost, top soil, propane,
and Christmas trees! We are a seasonal business. Starting on Black Friday each year we primarily sell Christmas trees, and once we've sold out we are closed until Spring. During the regular season we host a variety of events ranging from plant workshops, potlucks, and even outdoor movies! Thanks for your interest in OLD CITY GARDEN,

Too bad smellovision hasn't been invented yet... Our Plant Of The Week is the charming Scented Geranium. Scientific name, pelargonium. These fast growing, flowering annuals do very well in hanging baskets and planted in sunny spots in your garden. They get their scents from centuries of hybridization; which range from lemon to nutmeg to chocolate. To get these strong smells, rub your fingers on the leaves or even just brush against them. This week we have chocolate mint, peppermint, pine, and rose varieties. Stop in to smell! #plantoftheweek
