We want to take a moment to hold space for gratitude as we reflect on what an eventful year this has been and look forward to all that is to come in 2023!

This year we:
• Expanded our Regenerative Agriculture Certificate Program to more students and provided a stipend making the program more accessible
• Harvested over 3,800 lbs of produce from our land - preserving and cultivating a half acre of green space in the heart of DC
• Distributed over 16,000 lbs of produce via our Farm Market with a pay-what-you-can model reaching over 300 families per month
• Engaged over 45 volunteers through our City Farmers program who contributed over 600 hours of service
• Hosted 10 Community Events that engaged over 500 neighbors and community members
Provided 800 students with agriculture education by hosting over 35 field trips to Title 1 schools
• Taught over 100 youth through 79 LEAF classes and 30 Youth Garden sessions

Every dollar you contribute moves our mission to sustain and support a more equitable community through growing, learning, cooking, and sharing fresh food together.

Please do not underestimate the ripple effect your $5 or 5 minutes to share our fundraising campaign creates for our community.

Join us to plant seeds in 2023!

Join us this to plant seeds in 2023. Pictured here is James, Renata, and Britt, a group of students from our Certificate Program in Regenerative Agriculture, who worked on a project where they planted radish, turnip, cilantro, and spinach seeds in the same bed in a practice called intercropping. The purpose of this project is to experiment to see how intercropping works and what benefits may be yielded. Some potential benefits of intercropping include utilizing nutrients and water more efficiently, attracting beneficial predators, and managing cover crops more effectively. We just completed our second year of the Certificate Program in Regenerative Agriculture, where we trained 2 cohorts of adults plus 1 youth cohort in hands-on regenerative agriculture techniques. This program is offered free to students with a stipend for students for completing each level in the program.

As we enter the holiday season, we want to take a moment to express our gratitude to you for making the farm and our expanding impact possible. Your contributions further us toward cultivating a more equitable community in DC through growing, learning, cooking, and sharing fresh food.

Pictured here is some of the staff and volunteers at our last Farm Market of the season this year. We send our thanks to you in helping us grow and cultivate the community we want to see. Whether it was shopping at our weekly pay-what-you-can Farm Market, attending one of our Community Events, Seed-to-Table workshops, or A Night on the Farm dinners/ cocktail parties, or bringing your kids to LEAF, we appreciate you and your engagement!

Fourteen years ago, community members gathered to plant the seeds that created Common Good and those plants continue to bear fruit.
Join us to continue our journey to tend to those plants and plant new seeds in 2023.

Earth Day GIVEAWAY for DMV School Garden Teachers & Urban Farmers

I founded Amma's Choice, a natural organic beauty line because I did not want my young daughter exposed to too many chemicals and I sincerely love to be close to mother nature.

The land is in my blood! My grandparents had a family citrus, cocoa, and coffee estate, and they always had a variety of crops- that I shared with friends and neighbors… I feel so very privileged to always have had fresh, organic produce as a child. This experience truly shaped my holistic perspective. Hence, when my daughter started DC Public School in 2017, I worked to ensure the under-utilized green space would be transformed into a school garden that will be opening this year.

As a parent, I sincerely appreciate the school garden teachers' hard work to educate our kids about gardening and the environment- helping to create new generations of environmental stewards… as well as our local farmers who have a deep connection to the Mother Earth providing our communities with delicious and nutritious produce… THANK YOU - DC/ Maryland/ Virginia!!!
So, we are humbly saluting all those who toil the soil!

We are giving away 5 Amma’s Choice Hands & Feet Gift Baskets!
