We’re at it again with another Scrappy Cooking Workshop!
Thursday, July 16th from 6:30pm-8:30pm

Together with Climate Classes and Chef Bert, we’ll explore how to turn kitchen scraps into creative meals, cut down on waste, and build climate friendly habits.

Participants will have the opportunity to tour the farm while also learning from Climate Classes about different ways to reduce the environmental impact involved in food production and consumption. Come curious, leave inspired (and well fed)!

CGCF believes that equity is an essential component of a healthy, vibrant community.

Our market uses an economic justice tool that allows customers to name their price. We call it a pay-what-you-can system where we offer up to $30 worth of produce plus 2 value added products.

Shop seasonal produce and value added products like fruit jams, honey, eggs, meat, cheese, and milk at our weekly Wednesday farm market from 3:30-6:30pm. 🛒🍓🥒🥕

Want to see this food access work continue? There are several ways to get involved. From resource sharing, to making a donation, contributing volunteer hours, or attending an event on the farm — you play a vital role in sustaining programs like this.

Exciting announcement! 🥳📢

We’re welcoming back a very special chef friend of the farm - you may remember those sweet potato akara fritters from our October A night on the farm 😋— who will be crafting a stunning menu of Gambian and Afro-diasporic dishes using our freshest June crops.

Chef Mar (he/they) is a young chef who started their professional cooking career in the city 5 years ago. Having spent most of his life on the African continent, with African/Caribbean-American roots, he specializes in Afro fusion/diasporic cuisine.

Otherwise, he spends his free time running a Gambian/ Afro Diasporic culinary concept called Nekhna ; where he orchestrates private communal dining experiences.meal prep as well as occasional food vending. He seeks to become a student of indigenous and Global African cuisine while also making dining experiences more accessible and grounded. Within Nekhna, Mar also loves to use his skills to raise funds for those in need or contribute to mutual aid projects.

Expect vibrant flavors, a midsummer breeze, and maybe even a wine pairing to sip as the sun dips low. 🍷🌿
