Taking the meat and poultry industry’s voice to Washington!

Yesterday, Meat Institute Board members and staff visited dozens of Congressional offices across Capitol Hill as part of our annual Fly-In. Our member leaders met directly with policymakers to discuss current agriculture and policy issues affecting meat and poultry processors and share perspectives from businesses across the country.

Meat Institute members and staff also met with White House and Administration officials, including HHS Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr., Chief Agricultural Negotiator Julie Callahan, FSIS Administrator Justin Ransom and Acting FDA Commissioner Kyle Diamantas, to discuss industry priorities.

We’re grateful to our members for making the trip to Washington and engaging with policymakers on behalf of the meat and poultry industry!

The Meat Industry Hall of Fame is entering an exciting new chapter! 🥩🏆

The Meat Institute, American Association of Meat Processors and American Meat Science Association have formed a new managing partnership to steward the Hall and ensure its legacy continues.

Together, the organizations will preserve the Hall’s tradition of recognizing the leaders, innovators and pioneers who have made lasting contributions to the meat industry.

We look forward to building on that legacy and celebrating even more industry achievements in the years ahead!

BNP Media donates the Meat Industry Hall of Fame to the Meat Institute, as the association partners with the American Association of Meat Processors and American Meat Science Association to govern the Hall.

📢 New research offers meat and livestock companies a practical approach to reporting methane emissions.

A new peer-reviewed study published in Frontiers in Climate outlines a methodology for using GWP* alongside GWP100 in corporate greenhouse gas inventories.

The dual-reporting approach can help companies meet existing reporting requirements while providing additional context about how changes in methane emissions affect warming over time.

The research gives companies another practical tool to better understand their emissions and focus resources on strategies that can make a meaningful difference.

The meat industry has lost one of its greatest champions.

For more than five decades, Rosemary Mucklow dedicated her career to strengthening our industry, advocating for our members, and mentoring future leaders. Her leadership, wisdom, and unwavering commitment left an indelible mark that will be felt for generations.

We are grateful for Rosemary's extraordinary service and extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know and work alongside her.
