Join us as we kick off the Edible DC Salon Series with a special celebration of Teaism's 30th Anniversary! 🍵 For three decades, Teaism has been more than a restaurant. It has been a meeting place, a refuge, a workspace, a lunch spot, a first-date destination, and a gathering point for countless Washingtonians. Inspired by this, our program will spotlight questions such as, “What transforms a business into a beloved institution? Why do certain places become woven into the fabric of a city?”

Join a dynamic conversation about the places that shape our lives and define our communities. Featuring Teaism leadership, local storyteller Austin K. Graff, and Deputy Director of Development, Design, and Preservation at the DC Office of Planning, Radhika Mohan, this discussion explores why certain places become more than destinations – they become part of the city's identity.

Teaism is delighted to announce the debut of its Sunday Jazz & Tea series, held at Teaism Lafayette Park. This inaugural concert features acclaimed DC musician Thad Wilson, joined by his band.

Sunday Jazz & Tea brings together two Teaism traditions in one afternoon: our curated teas and small bites, paired with the jazz that has long filled the air at every Teaism location. This series is a celebration of that legacy — live, in person, and steeped in the sound our guests know and love.

Produced in partnership with Corinne Molz and Teaism.

We will continue our creative workshops over tea with our friends at DC Zinefest on Fri. 8/28. The DC Zinefest team will guide you through the basics of designing and creating your own personal zine. You'll also have the chance to contribute to a collaborative group zine celebrating tea memories to mark Teaism's 30th anniversary.

This will be a free event, but tickets will be required, as space and supplies are limited. Please RSVP:

Back by popular demand for our puerh enthusiasts. + More about our Sticky Rice Aged Puerh: “Nuomi Xiang,” Semnostachya menglaensis, is an herb that grows in Yunnan Province and has a distinct, beautiful scent of fresh sticky rice. The herb is blended into puerh tea to give a sweet, aromatic, “glutinous” note to the tea drinking experience that is sometimes also compared to Pandan leaf.

$20. Sold online and in-store. 2 oz bags – contains 13 pcs. https://www.teaism.com/product/special-sticky-rice-aged-puerh-2004/

We're so grateful to the creative community around us. From the authors, poets, musicians, and artists who've sat at our tables, sipped tea with us, and drafted notes and sketches along the way — you have helped shape Teaism over these last 30 years.

Last Friday, we were inspired by everyone's collages at Ariana R-G's tea-inspired art workshop at Teaism Penn Quarter.

Speaking of creative inspo: keep an eye out for a special Teaism 30th crossover event with our friends at DC Zine Fest on 8/28. More on this soon!
