Mo Cherry is a professional sommelier, bartender, and chef working in the DC metropolitan region. GIMMESOMMO Tasting Events are wine tasting/pairing/educational events hosted by Sommelier Mo Cherry. GIMMESOMMO offers event planning and hosting for wine and beverage events, dinners, parties and tastings. Events are made to be social, cordial, and educational, but most importantly - enjoyable.

As the weather in London hits 25 degrees (that’s 77 for my American friends!), you can’t help but get the itch for summertime. That’s where Pan Bagnat comes into the picture. Provençal in origin, you’d be pretty hard pressed to find a more perfect picnic/beach/lounge and drink Rosé meal. Toasted bread drenched in olive oil and balsamic, roasted peppers, red onion, capers, soft boiled egg, and dealer’s choice of tinned fish (I reach for Cantabrian anchovies, myself!). Wrap it up tidy, throw it in the rucksack, and grab the bottle of Tavel at the last second? You’re smiling for the rest of the day!

As the weather in London hits 25 degrees today, I would like to formally introduce you to the best sandwich you may have never heard of…the Pan Bagnat. Provençal through and through, it’s versatile, well suited for picnics or packed lunches, and…quite frankly - FU***NG DELICIOUS! Crusty bread, red onion, roasted peppers & artichokes, arugula, and a punchy combo of balsamic + extra virgin olive oil? Yeah…summer…sorted.

Getting back on the horse of posting. Simple, Good Friday dinner with the Lovely One. Cod from oeno maris dressed in a chervil/lovage parade. Underneath - potatoes, broad beans, and wild Italian asparagus. Dulse/vermouth buerre blanc really tied it all together. The wine? It was alright 😏.
