We can’t even agree on Israel’s biggest problem.

Shai Davidai told me about an exercise where everyone had to pick one of four problems and stand in a different corner of the room.

Everyone chose based on their politics, their identity, their priorities. Pretty quickly, the room was divided.

His point: how are we supposed to solve any of these problems if everyone stays in their own corner?

We’re going to disagree. A lot. But I’d rather argue with someone who cares about Israel’s future than give up on each other entirely.

There’s too much at stake for that.

Israeli families shouldn’t have to live waiting for the next Iranian missile barrage.

On October 15, Channel 12 reported unusual military activity inside Iran and discussions between Israeli and American officials. Noa Tishby shared an alert that brought wider attention to the report.

Here’s what matters: that reporting did NOT establish a confirmed attack decision or timetable. It also said Israeli and American officials didn’t see a need for immediate action. Those details belong alongside the warning.

But uncertainty doesn’t make the threat something Israeli families can simply shrug off. These are our parents, our cousins, our friends. They deserve to put their children to bed without wondering whether the next siren will send everyone running.

Israel has every right to defend its people. Nobody should expect us to apologize for that.

Stand with Israel. 🇮🇱 🔁

We filmed this on October 8th, the day after the third anniversary of October 7th.
⠀
Shai asked me about losing my cousin Benny, and how I deal with seeing support for the people responsible for so much of our grief.
⠀
The honest answer is that I’m still working on it.
⠀
Sometimes I want to retreat into myself and shut everything out. I wish I had a better answer, but that’s where my mind goes.
⠀
Building Iron Dome Coffee has given me something to do with my hands when I don’t know what else to do with the anger. I need to contribute, to help, to have some way of standing beside the people who are carrying so much.
⠀
Benny, may your memory be a blessing.
⠀
Am Yisrael Chai.

Keep the receipt. Mostly so you remember what to order next time. 😉
⠀
Our Jerusalem Sunrise medium roast comes in pods, too. Pop one in, press brew, and see what you think.
⠀
We donate 18% of our profits to organizations supporting Israel. That part’s worth keeping on the receipt.

Shai Davidai is right. If the antisemites win, it won’t matter whether you supported Israel from the left or the right.
⠀
Shai makes an important point here. Our political disagreements matter, but I don’t need to agree with someone on every issue to stand beside them against antisemitism.
⠀
We spend so much time arguing with people who actually want many of the same things we do. I think we lose a lot when we forget that.
⠀
At Iron Dome Coffee, we donate 18% of our profits to organizations supporting Israel.

Comment DOME if you’d like to try our coffee.

I named my company Iron Dome Coffee and put an Israeli flag on the bag. I’m proud of both.
⠀
Shai Davidai and I talked about the courage it takes to stand publicly for what you believe, and how each of us can contribute through the things we’re good at.
⠀
For me, that means building this company, putting my face behind it, and giving people another way to support Israel through something as familiar as a cup of coffee.
⠀
Thank you, Shai, for this conversation, and thank you to everyone helping me build Iron Dome Coffee.

We’ve sold over 1 million cups of coffee in just over a year!

Every time you brew a cup at home, you’re choosing a company that stands with Israel, even from 6,000 miles away. We donate 18% of our profits to organizations supporting Israeli soldiers, veterans, and first responders.

Our Galilee Mint Green Tea sold out in 24 hours, so we brought it back in bulk. And if you’re waiting for something else, hot chocolate is coming next.

“I’m never gonna drink any other coffee.”

One guy said that after I told him 18% of our profits are donated to organizations supporting Israeli soldiers, veterans, and first responders. Another called it an amazing mission.

If you haven't already, give Iron Dome Coffee a shot today by ordering on our website!

Zohran Mamdani used the third anniversary of October 7 to attack Israel. It’s despicable.

His statement condemned Hamas, then pivoted to accusing Israel of genocide and apartheid. He chose the anniversary of a massacre to put the Jewish state on trial.

Our dead deserved better. Their families deserved better. And Jews in New York deserve a mayor who can recognize our grief without turning it into another opportunity to vilify Israel.

Israel has a right to protect its people. I’m not apologizing for that, and I’m certainly not letting Mamdani tell us how to remember our worst day.

When I heard the news on October 7th, I was in New York, working at a job I didn’t belong in, and suddenly I was questioning who I was going to be from that moment on.

What could I do for my family in Israel? How could anyone defend Hamas after what they had done to our people?

The war that followed took my cousin, Benyamin “Benny” Asulin, in July 2025. He should still be here.

Three years later, I still have questions. But our grief should never have needed a political defense.

May their memories be a blessing.
