A BUSY AFTERNOON AT THE MAIN STREET SALE
Hand-lettered price signs filled the shop windows while racks of summer clothes, dishes, toys, baskets, and books stretched from one end of the block to the other. Friends stopped to visit between purchases, and a simple homemade lunch waited beneath the awning of the old corner café.

Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
2. Grease a large baking dish.
3. Combine the chicken, celery, green onions, and optional pecans.
4. Mix the mayonnaise, sour cream, mustard, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
5. Fold the dressing into the chicken.
6. Add 1 cup cheddar.
7. Split and butter the rolls.
8. Place the bottom halves in the baking dish.

Ingredients:
• 3 large firm tomatoes
• 1 teaspoon salt, divided
• 1 cup mozzarella
• ½ cup sharp cheddar
• ¼ cup grated Parmesan
• ¾ cup seasoned breadcrumbs
• 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
• 2 tablespoons green onions
• 1 tablespoon parsley
• 1 teaspoon dried basil
• ½ teaspoon garlic powder
• ¼ teaspoon pepper
• 2 tablespoons olive oil
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
2. Line a baking sheet.
3. Cut the tomatoes into ½-inch rounds.
4. Place them on paper towels.
5. Sprinkle lightly with salt.
6. Let stand for 10 minutes.
7. Pat dry.
8. Mix the cheeses, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, onions, parsley, basil, garlic powder, pepper, and remaining salt.

• ¾ cup mayonnaise
• ¼ cup Greek yogurt or sour cream
• 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
• 1 tablespoon lemon juice
• 2 tablespoons honey
• 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
• ¾ teaspoon salt
• ¼ teaspoon pepper
• ½ teaspoon celery seed
Directions:
1. Cut the apples into thin matchsticks.
2. Place them in a large bowl.
3. Add the cabbage, celery, carrots, onion, dried fruit, and walnuts.
4. Toss gently.
5. Whisk the mayonnaise and yogurt.
6. Add the vinegar, lemon juice, honey, mustard, salt, pepper, and celery seed.

• ½ cup melted butter
• ¼ cup lemon juice
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 8 ounces softened cream cheese
• ⅓ cup granulated sugar
• 1 egg yolk
• ½ teaspoon vanilla
• 1 cup powdered sugar
• 2 tablespoons lemon juice
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
2. Line a 12-cup muffin pan.
3. Mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
4. Rub the lemon zest into ¾ cup sugar.
5. Whisk the eggs, sour cream, butter, lemon juice, vanilla, and lemon sugar.
6. Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients.
7. Beat the cream cheese with ⅓ cup sugar.
8. Add the egg yolk and vanilla.
9. Spoon a little muffin batter into each cup.

• 3 cups ice cubes
• 1 tablespoon lime zest
• Pineapple wedges and lime slices
Directions:
1. Combine the sugar and water in a saucepan.
2. Heat until the sugar dissolves.
3. Cool completely.
4. Blend the pineapple chunks with 1 cup pineapple juice.
5. Pour into a pitcher.
6. Add the remaining pineapple juice.
7. Add the lime juice, syrup, and zest.
8. Stir well.
9. Chill for at least 1 hour.
10. Add the sparkling water or soda.
11. Add the ice.
