Honey extraction day 🍯💛 We will be taking inventory over the next weeks however, we are expecting a low amount of honey and some cut comb available for sale this year. We probably won’t have a fall honey harvest due to the dry conditions. Stay tuned for updates!

Spring Honey 2023 is here! 🐝🍯🌷
We ended up safely harvesting 400 pounds while still being able to leave ample amount of resources for the hives to thrive the rest of the summer!

Suggested donations for this year are:
1 quart (3lbs) - $25
1 pint (1.5.lbs) - $15

While not a native plant, dandelions are an early food source for pollinators and have some other benefits that make it worth a mention on National W**d Appreciation Day.

Dandelions don't pose any real threats to native plants or wildlife, so enjoy them or not! **dAppreciationDay

Did you know?

In Pennsylvania honey bees have a 49% death rate over winter, with most hive losses occurring in March. Bees use up their stored resources throughout the winter leaving March a crucial time where resources may be depleted and no new resources have returned.

Keep an eye out for those first spring blooms and remember that what we consider weeds are essential food to bees and other insects after long winter months 🌼🐝

Bee season is here! The red maples have started to bloom in southwestern Pennsylvania.

These sporadic warm days have given us the chance to take a quick peak at the hives and get some pollen out for them to enjoy.

These ladies are very docile as they break out of their winter slumber and prepare for a busy spring. 🌞🌾🌻

There may be 6 more weeks of winter but only 4-5 more weeks until we are back in the yards working with the bees!

Warmer and brighter days are on the way despite what the Groundhog says ☀️🐝
