4/21/26 — Hard night. Looks like we may have lost a lot of our 2026 vintage with the 22 degree freeze last night. Now we’re hoping for secondary budbreak which can do some amazing things.
We have a little tattletale Vineyard — she’s our snitch, our informant, who reports every secret and wrong doing to an authority figure (Carl). This little patch has been with us for a decade and is always our ace in the hole if things happen. We chose her when our Viognier died in 2016 because she’s a late bloomer early harvest baby — adapted to a shorter growing season. We’re not giving up on her yet. We hope she’s sleeping in like she’s supposed to do. We took a stroll up our observation walk where we (and all of our guests) monitor vino progress through the season, and there are a few healthy signs.
