**HIRING**

CERTIFIED DIESEL TECHNICIAN(S)

Knupp Farms Inc. is seeking an experienced **Certified Diesel Technician** to join our in-house maintenance team. This position is responsible solely for maintaining and repairing **company-owned equipment**. There is **no outside customer work**.

The ideal candidate is an experienced, dependable technician capable of diagnosing problems, completing repairs correctly, and helping keep our equipment safe, reliable, and ready to work.

Our fleet includes **heavy-duty trucks, livestock trailers, farm equipment, construction equipment, pickups, and other company-owned equipment**.

**Primary Responsibilities**

* Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain company-owned diesel equipment.
* Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled services on trucks and equipment.
* Diagnose and repair diesel engines, including Cummins and Caterpillar platforms.
* Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic systems using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
* Repair and maintain air brake, suspension, steering, cooling, fuel, and exhaust systems.
* Diagnose and repair drivetrain components, including transmissions, clutches, differentials, and driveline components.
* Perform repairs and maintenance on livestock and other heavy-duty trailers.
* Inspect equipment for developing problems and make recommendations before failures occur.
* Perform DOT-related inspections and repairs to keep company trucks and trailers safe and compliant.
* Respond to occasional equipment breakdowns and field-service situations.
* Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
* Communicate parts and repair needs to management.
* Keep the shop, tools, service equipment, and work areas organized and clean.
* Help manage preventive-maintenance schedules and identify equipment approaching service intervals.
* Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
* Perform other equipment maintenance and repair duties as needed.

**Qualifications**

* Diesel technician certification or equivalent professional training strongly preferred.
* Previous experience as a heavy-duty diesel technician required.
* Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
* Experience working on Class 8 trucks preferred.
* Experience with Cummins and Caterpillar engines is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of air brake systems, electrical systems, suspensions, drivetrains, and diesel emissions systems.
* Experience with agricultural and/or construction equipment is a plus.
* Ability to read wiring diagrams, service information, and diagnostic procedures.
* Ability to work independently and determine the proper repair without constant supervision.
* CDL preferred, but not required.
* Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
* Must provide dependable, quality workmanship and take pride in maintaining equipment properly.

**What Makes This Position Different**

This is an **in-house fleet position**. You will not be working on customer equipment, dealing with retail customers, selling repairs, or working under a dealership flat-rate system.

Your job is straightforward: **keep our equipment maintained, safe, reliable, and working.**

Because the equipment belongs to us, we value preventive maintenance and fixing problems correctly—not simply getting equipment out the door as quickly as possible.

Our company operates a variety of equipment, including:

* Kenworth and other Class 8 trucks
* Caterpillar and Cummins-powered equipment
* Livestock and heavy-duty trailers
* Farm tractors and agricultural equipment
* Excavators and construction equipment
* Service trucks
* Pickups and light-duty vehicles
* Hydraulic equipment and attachments
* Other company-owned support equipment

We are looking for someone who can be handed a problem and **figure it out**.

The right technician will take ownership of the company's equipment, notice problems before they become major failures, communicate what needs attention, and take pride in sending equipment back to work repaired correctly.

This is an excellent position for an experienced technician who enjoys working on a variety of equipment and wants to get away from dealership or customer-based repair work.

**Must have references**

The correct applicant(s) will have an opportunity to name their pay rate, based on experience, and reference checks. We are not here to tell you what you are worth! Health, Vision and Dental Insurance Package offered at 60 Days of Employment. After hours and overtime are also offered Day 1!

Please message us on Facebook, or Call/Text Tanner at (319) 461-8859 if you are interested!

Fall Will Be Here Soon at Knupp Farms.

As harvest gets closer, we’re already thinking about what comes next. At Knupp Farms, we find incredible value in applying hog manure to our row crop fields—putting valuable nutrients back into the soil and preparing the ground for another growing season.

It’s all part of the cycle of agriculture: raising livestock, growing crops and making the most of the resources we have right here on the farm.
