Well, we had to say goodbye to our dahlias yesterday after our first true frost. There really is something quite magical seeing the blooms frozen in the quiet chill of the morning and knowing once the sun hits they will all be gone till next season. A bittersweet goodbye.❄️

Normally our first frost comes near the end of September but this summer sure has been less than typical. Last night it was between 32-34F degrees for most of the night. Surprisingly the damage was pretty minimal considering.
