The Alaska State Fair is winding down this weekend.

Lany did an excellent job with her Saanen wether for FFA this year!
Born in February here, he weighs 136 pounds, official weight. Beautiful photo her mom shared with me.

I would love to support a dairy meat class for goats so that there would be both the Boers and the dairy classes seperately, not combined. I support 4-H and FFA!!!

Tomatoes in a colander from the greenhouse, Tumbling Toms I started from seed in the house. Purple green beans, the seeds from Italy that I started early in the greenhouse. Cucumbers inn the greenhouse doing very well! Cauliflower and broccoli from the greenhouse are now done, both are growing well outdoors in the raised beds so we’ll be eating those soon. Cabbages and zucchini as well as some carrots are also part of our dinners.

Larger unit than we have, which is a 10 bale accumulator and grappler setup, but it does eliminate the need for extra people to pick up and stack hay in the field. We usually start baling at 1 or 2 in the afternoon once the hay is dry enough from the morning dews that are prevalent here. Hard to get last minute helpers to stack hay on wagons at that time of day during the week.

Yep!

All the things on the farm, well, some of the things that keep us tremendously busy. The honey is in the jars, the veggies coming along nicely, the flowers are just lovely. Enjoy!

“It costs as much to feed a poor milker as it does to feed a good milker.” I was taught this years ago and it still rings true.

Lambs and registered Saanen Goat Kids!!!! Tomato and pepper seeds up and growing well. Life is crazy at this time of year… and next week the sheep shearer comes to shear 36 head of Shetland sheep, the post office will deliver 50 pullet chicks, and I will be sitting other front porch with an iced tea…..
Don’t believe the last part, that won’t happen until late October.
