Caught my Splash Marans laying her FIRST EGGGG! YES, HER VERY FIRST EGG! And guess what? I literally DROPPED IT by accident! I can’t make this up!

But seriously, THIS IS SO EXCITING! 🥹I’ve always wanted a bloomy Marans, and now I’m finally seeing my goal come to life! 😍✨ so rewarding!!!

Winter is approaching, and apparently most of my girls have decided they’re DONE working. 😅
Honestly though, I’m happy they’re getting a well-deserved break.They’ve worked hard, and now it’s time to relax, molt, eat, and enjoy their winter vacation.

Meanwhile, I’ll just be over here checking the nest boxes like, Anybody working today?lol

This is my first year having Silkies, and who would have thought I’d actually have some Silkies running around in my backyard? 😂

For some reason, I never wanted a VIF (Very Important Flock) especially with winter here. 😅 But now that I have these little fluffy goofballs, my kids absolutely LOVE them… and honestly, so do I!

They are just the cutest little things!!!

Never say never, because somehow the Silkies made their way into my backyard! 😅

Now, I'm thinking to add few MOTTLED or SPLASH PURE SILKIES, Do any one of my friends here has some for coming spring to spare or recommendation for hatching? Please and Thank you! 💕

NEW LAYER ALERT!!!

The dark espresso egg on the left is from my Blue Copper OE, while the speckled egg on the right is from my Splash OE. And the little one at the bottom is from a Silkie (my kid’s spoiled pet) 😂❤️

For those who have my babies that inherited the blue egg gene, you can expect them to produce eggs similar to what I’m seeing in my breeding program right now.

The egg color journey never gets old! 💕
