Something new is taking wing at Roosting Raven Farm.
For a while now, Roosting Raven Farm has also been home to a growing little bird rescue operated by my daughter.
We thought it was time to officially introduce Winging It Bird Rescue.
Winging It provides foster care, rehabilitation, and sanctuary for birds in need, and is beginning to grow its educational side as well. While Winging It and Roosting Raven Farm are separate, we share the same property and, as family tends to do, lend each other a hand when one of us needs it.
Right now, Winging It is at capacity and is not accepting additional birds. Instead, we’re focusing on the birds already in our care and planning for the future.
One of those plans is a dedicated Winging It facility here on the farm, with space designed specifically for quarantine, biosecurity, rehabilitation, flight and long-term sanctuary. There’s quite a bit of work between a drawing on paper and an actual building, but that’s part of the adventure.
You’ll start seeing Winging It pop up here more often as we share some of the birds, enrichment and care ideas, responsible bird ownership, behind-the-scenes projects, and eventually some small educational classes and workshops.
So, while Roosting Raven Farm is still very much Roosting Raven Farm, there’s now another set of wings growing here.

Winging It will have its own page soon! That’s where we’ll share the birds, the chaos, the learning, the building process, educational information, upcoming classes, and all the little things that go into running a bird rescue. We’ll share the page here once it’s ready so anyone who wants to follow Winging It from the beginning can join us.
