LOOKS LIKE HOMEMADE...TASTES LIKE HOMEMADE...IT IS HOMEMADE! Jams/jellies/relishes and baked goods cooked in small batches "granny" style are my main products.

After taking an early retirement, I wasn't certain about what I wanted to do with my "spare" time. I have been handcrafting jewelry as a sideline for quite a while which explains the "gift" part of Granny's Gourmet and Gifts, but I wanted to do more. One of the great joys in my life is cooking, so I followed some very good advice I once heard. "Do what you love and do it with excellence." All of t

he food products you will find at Granny's are made in small batches with quality ingredients whether it's jam, jelly or baked goods.

A few months ago I changed phones and somehow my Google Voice didn’t transfer to my new phone. I have now fixed it, but the number has changed to (682) 253-1071. If I’ve missed any of your calls, I promise I was unaware that there was a problem! The only message I got was that there were no messages or voicemails. I will have some new cards made soon, so I can give them to you. Bring your umbrellas to First Monday. Looks like we may have some rain! I still haven’t been able to make my jams and other canned goods, so the selection is limited. When I’m able to lift more and safely work with boiling water and product, they’ll be available. Come see me!

I’m getting ingredients together for the April Canton First Monday. I always enjoy seeing everyone plus I love baking! You know how FB asks “what’s on your mind.” Well, my thoughts aren’t deep or constructive tonight. I’m wondering why my Catahoula looks so weird when he sleeps and why both dogs push me to the very edge of the bed? There’s all kinds of room on the other side. Plus, they hog the covers!

March’s First Monday was good. Everyone seemed relaxed and in good spirits. The weather was so beautiful. Thanks to all who came by to see me. Another big thanks to all at Lone Star Candles who are so supportive and great about helping me set up during my recovery and even before my accident. Hope to see you next month. I’m gathering ingredients for Canton First Monday March event. I hated to miss last month, but ice is a “no go” for me. I hope everyone stayed safe and warm! If you have anything that you would like me to bring for this event, let me know. Hoping for warm weather … Granny

I hope everyone has power, is warm and safe. We’re still icy and with temps so low, it doesn’t seem to be getting a bunch better. Anyway, I’ve had to make the decision to not go to Canton this month. My arm is still healing and I can’t take the chance that it might refreeze. I will miss those of you who attend and hope you have a great First Monday. See you next month!

I really enjoyed being back to First Monday at Canton and am looking forward to February’s market! I got to see sweet Sadie as well as my friends, vendors and long-time customers. Everyone was so kind to help me until my arm is 100%! Meanwhile, hope everyone stays warm and safe. See you next month!

I will be at Canton First Monday tomorrow although my start will be a little late. I’ll be driving in from Haslet and I don’t drive when it’s dark! These eyes are old! Be safe on the road and layer. Temps will start cold and climb to mild.

I’m getting ready for Canton. I’ll be so glad to see everyone! I’m still in the 4500 Building, Space 4566. I think it’s going to be cold, so dress warm!

Hi guys! This is just an update on my condition. Please forgive the photos as I’m not good at photos or posing for them. Anyway, my orbital fracture has not caused any problems, my stitches are out and I only have slight bruising left on my face. My ortho said I wrecked my wrist and broke my forearm. He decided letting them heal naturally would be just as good as having surgery. When healed, my wrist might look weird, but I’ve been promised full functionality. I’ve gone from soling, to cast and am now in a brace. Jayda and Amanda rolled their eyes when I said I would just bake one-handed … they were right! Although I’ve learned the single hand egg break and ordered precut parchment, I didn’t allow for the hit to my stamina. My friends from Lone Star Candle will be at Canton and will have songs of my jams and jellies plus seasonings probably on Saturday. I will keep you updated and try to be back next month! I hope you all have a wonderful, blessed Thanksgiving and Christmas. See you next year!

Granny has an orange cast!!! Dr said at this age just let it heal naturally. We are still waiting on more info about the face. Granny is being taken care of, of course she does so much for us. Keep those prayers coming for a speedy recovery.
