After about 17 years at the First Monday Canton Flea market, I’m retiring. My health the last few months has been the main factor in making this decision. Much thanks to all the vendors, especially Lone Star Candles, for their help and support! I love you guys! For my customers, I will miss all of you and know there are other great goodies out there for you. After I get better, you might see me out there to visit and shop! I wish everyone success in all that you’re doing! Granny

Canton was hot this month, but I was glad to see all you brave friends that decided to come and sweat with us! Hopefully, September will be a little cooler. I’m trying to get back into my regular routine which includes a light physical therapy. Apparently, the animals thought I needed help!

Canton First Monday starts tomorrow! Today and tomorrow I’m baking, so I’ll be there Friday through Sunday. I’ll have Banana Nut, Apple, Pumpkin, and Zucchini Breads. There will be brownies, chocolate cookies and Texas praline cake squares too. I’m hoping by next month I’ll have some of my jams. I’m feeling better and am so thankful to be coming each month again! Hopefully, I remember some gently used little girls clothes like I promised last month. It’s going to be hot, so remember to hydrate.

I thought I wouldn’t be able to come to the Canton First Monday event, but things change thankfully! I’m getting ingredients together and am really excited about being at this 4th of July weekend. There will be a concert and car show at the West Gate to celebrate! I’m still not canning jams yet, but I will have baked items and seasonings. I’ll be bringing a few gently worn little girls items if you’re interested. See you there!

Well, I thought I would be at Canton Saturday, but I’m unable to make it. Many of you know that I’ve been having upper neck and back problems. This has made it extremely difficult to bake as I can only work for about 20 minutes at a time and then I have to rest. My doctor has diagnosed this as osteoarthritis and given me PT that should help. Hope I can see you next month!

Canton weekend is coming up and sounds like the weather is cooperating. Though I’m usually there on Friday morning, due to an accidental appointment scheduling, I won’t be there until Saturday morning. Hope to see you all, but if not have a great month and I’ll see you next month!

A few months ago I changed phones and somehow my Google Voice didn’t transfer to my new phone. I have now fixed it, but the number has changed to (682) 253-1071. If I’ve missed any of your calls, I promise I was unaware that there was a problem! The only message I got was that there were no messages or voicemails. I will have some new cards made soon, so I can give them to you. Bring your umbrellas to First Monday. Looks like we may have some rain! I still haven’t been able to make my jams and other canned goods, so the selection is limited. When I’m able to lift more and safely work with boiling water and product, they’ll be available. Come see me!

I’m getting ingredients together for the April Canton First Monday. I always enjoy seeing everyone plus I love baking! You know how FB asks “what’s on your mind.” Well, my thoughts aren’t deep or constructive tonight. I’m wondering why my Catahoula looks so weird when he sleeps and why both dogs push me to the very edge of the bed? There’s all kinds of room on the other side. Plus, they hog the covers!
